yo yo yo yo
This isn't really a big deal because it runs fine...but just curious if it's something to worry about before something worse goes wrong.
Sometimes when accelerating in the CRV, or soon after it shifts (auto), there will be a "shaking" and it seems to be coming from the passenger side. It goes away after a second or two. Seems to be transmission/driveshaft/joint related but I have no clue what it could be past that.
-
Does a CRV have U-joints? That happened on my old explorer when they went bad.
-
Same style cv's as civic iirc. Check your lug nuts... I know they cause random shakes too
-
I meant in the front to rear driveshaft
-
yes it has u joints on the rear shaft, the rear diffs like to chatter to if they haven't been kept up on fluid changes.

Usually find it is less vibration and more of a solid clunk when you start rolling and hit the brakes. At least for me. I would check the rear diff also to make sure everything is solid.
-
oh yeah that sounds like the actual drive shaft (front to rear) U-joints... most trucks i drive with that problem is the u-joints.
-
My Previa does that when the rear aluminum drive shaft gets out of balance.
So how fast have you had the CRV at?
I bet it has been to 100mph or more. I've notice these drive shafts do not like prolong 100mph + unless they perfectly balance and the u-joints lubed. Especially the 1st gens.
You will be replacing the drive shaft assembly soon. ;)

I remember feeling something similar... My CV nut had worked itself loose. But I could also feel mine in the steering wheel, obviously.
-
That was probably your bearings coming loose.
-
It's not mine, just a friend's that I maintain :-\
Maybe has been driven over 100mph, but not by the current owner. It seems to be coming from the front passenger side. I will check out the u-joints. Then again, maybe it's just fluid. It's been leaking fluid slowly but I haven't had the energy to peer underneath until the other day and saw it was coming from the transmission side of things.
Thanks
