Title: noob question again - main caps
Post by: Jorsher on April 20, 2010, 11:35:28 PM
Which way do they go?

flywheel] <-5 <-4 <-3 <-2 <-1 [pulley

Or

flywheel] 5-> 4-> 3-> 2-> 1-> [pulley

It's like doing head bolts:

flywheel] <-2 <-4 <-1 <-5 <-3 [pulley  ;D

I just pulled 2 p72 blocks apart and one p72 head, pulley side always got #1.

Arrows point toward the front( timing belt side) of the engine, and the number 1 cap goes at that end as well.

<Waits for someone to argue with me about what side of an engine is the front.>

IMO the front is the side that first crosses the finish line first.

I know that cap #1 starts on the pulley side, just wasn't sure which way the arrows would point :P

Thanks again snm95ls.
