Title: 7 pounds on regular?
Post by: stealthiskey on April 28, 2010, 09:55:29 PM
Recently put my old t25 kit back on my civic.  Loaded up the old tune that I used with 93 octane, but timing was still conservative.  Have about half a tank of regular 87 octane, and it seems to be running fine at 7 pounds, maybe stronger than before, but I haven't checked the plugs yet.

Think it will work if I keep it cheap on regular?

You're fine.  Be careful of quick spool setups like that at higher boost/power levels, much like nitrous the bigger the "shot" for any given octane, the higher in the rpm band it needs to "hit."

Why you ask shit like this in a non-tuning forum, which I and other people who know octane-specifics intimately rarely check, is beyond me.

you probably be fine just retard it a degree or 2 at base  to be safe. i always ran 91 no matter what. 20cents a gallon aint much especially if gas is hella over priced..., 20 cents on the gallon dont buy you much gas anyways.

its like 20 cents a gallon more for 93. i dont understand why you would even risk it for 2 dollars a tank.

if you know someone they will give it to you around here. they drain the tanks into drums and the employees get to use it.

God why didn't you make all women in Shay Laren's image? WHY?!

BTW it will be okay. When you consider people do 400hp on 91 and barely clear 450hp with 93, you could run a t25 at 7psi with nigger piss and be fine. 87 is one reason cars in the 80's had tiny turbos and nearly 7:1 compression ratios.
