Or order these
 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-00-CIVIC-D16-D16A-H-BEAM-CONNECTING-PISTON-ROD-RODS-/280495186517?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item414ed0e255 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-00-CIVIC-D16-D16A-H-BEAM-CONNECTING-PISTON-ROD-RODS-/280495186517?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item414ed0e255)

Buy ARP bolts for 1.6L Renault Clio and they will be correct size. ;) (pm me if you need a good source for ARP fasteners)

Or better yet order these they look a lot like my spare TT rods :?:

Cheaper in the long run b/c they come with ARP fasteners already. ;D

In for some prior experience on the jackie chan rods, very tempting at that price but I'm a little skeptical. Seems like something as simple as a connecting rod would be hard to fuck up, but you never know...

Thought I remember reading somewhere that Eagles are cdm too? Head good things about FJTs stuff, would probably be worth the extra $90, but I'm a cheap ass at heart.

In for some prior experience on the jackie chan rods

They are what 95% of everyone runs.  TT, Eagle, SCAT, Crower Econo-rod, FJT, no name.  The PR blurb is china forging finish machined in house, ok.

You don't see many Crower/Pauter/Manley/Carillo D16 rods running around.

That was my suspicion, but I wasn't entirely sure. $200 for a set of rods seemed too good to be true.

A $10K buy in gets the rods at $160-something for a set of four... or that was what Probe quoted us a few years back, so you know they were getting them cheaper from the chinese.

A very reliable source told me that eagles cost per rod is $1.  I then questioned someone that i know who is a rep for one the mentioned company's, and he confirmed.

They are cdm but a good rod for the $$ spent. Eagle was smart and copied someone elses very good design.

That's not going to include shipping halfway around the world.

are there any companys making cheap rods anymore? i remember TT rods, and there was another for a bit, too.
want to do a vitara setup. my goal is 300hp at most. will probably want to upgrade my turbo.
also thought of just buying a ls motor, but people around here think  those and any z6 are gold, so i figured it would just be cheaper to do a vitara setup.

how cheaper you want than $300? eagle rods are cheap, and great for low power, I snapped one off at the bolts trying to make 600whp. but still think they are good, you can find them for less than $200 used.

Eagles rods are great for 1200 whp.

Rod bolts don't get loaded by power level, they are loaded by rpm.  You had a mis-torqued or defective part.

they were reused 3 times, thats why I don't blame anyone but myself for it.

Find a friend in Canada to have them shipped to, then ship to you.
