Title: 92-95 Civic steering rack adjustment tool
Post by: jagojon3 on May 18, 2010, 02:19:11 AM
Anybody know where to get one for a decent price? I tried alternative methods and it's not happening, I am sad that my pipe wrench didn't work.

What part are you adjusting?  toe?

I just replaced all my bushings, and tie rods (inner and outer).

All I needed was some open end wrenches to adjust the toe in out.

No

Adjusting the tension/distance between the rack and pinion gear. There is a large hex wrench to loosen a lock nut, this is the tool I need.

don't mess with it.

Most of the wear is on center, by tightening it it will end up binding at 1/2 lock.

The nut is 40mm, 1 9/16" might work.

I bought a big adjustable wrench when I rebuilt the rack in my old CRX.

I had no issues with binding on my 250K+ mile steering rack after adjustment.
