on a side note, you can get brass or stainless scour pads from the supermarket and they make awesome tip cleaners.

Do you like those?
-
Yes. They are supposed to be backdoored Hakkos, in the same manner that BLOX found the china company manufacturing older Skank9 gear and undercut Skank with it.
I've had this for around a year now, I have used it a lot: http://store.sra-solder.com/product.php/6267/0 (http://store.sra-solder.com/product.php/6267/0)

The first time I used one of those I was pissed I had ever used a wet sponge. It cleans everything off the tip and makes it look like you just tinned it. I have a cup with really fine, long brass shavings in it. Works awesome.
I've used the self vacuuming gun before. It was great for bigger stuff. The tips can be had in smaller sizes, but you have to be fast and careful on smaller items. If you don't have a station handy, you can make a air damn around the part with aluminum foil and use a heat gun. Liquify solder, smack upside down on table. A little braid work cleans the mess up.

Thats because it is.

No it's not. Ask Michael J. Fox - Michael's not stupid, but he can't use one.
