Title: How to kill a cat V1.2.34
Post by: Doug on May 25, 2010, 06:10:52 PM: Ok, so the problem started with one wild ass feral cat. It took up residence around our house and apparently spawned three more satan cats. The three left which was good, but the damn main one won't. Then it popped out two more, those two are still around and the main cat has since popped out three more. So now there are six of these annoying bastards around.

They have already bit/scratched two people at random (they are wild as hell), scratched up the cars, killing all the birds/squirrels, and have now tore a big hole in the insulation around the HVAC duct work under the house. There is no "leash law" out in the county, so the "pound" won't do anything about them.

So I'm looking for options to get rid of these annoying ass pest. I thought about just shooting them, but I only have a 30-06, which would make a big ass mess and noise (live in a neighborhood, so I don't see this going well). Thought about poisoning, but not sure what would do the trick quick/humanely and is readily available. Also thought about setting up a snare type trap where they are getting under the house. Any other creative ideas?

Post by: t_cel_t on May 25, 2010, 06:40:17 PM: this is so easy, just go to walmart and get one of the crossman pump bb guns. dont get the red rider 1 pump, get the hunting pellets and go practice on some paper and get the sights perfect. now sit out in the yard and wait untill 1 gets within 10-15 feet and shoot the fucker through the eye. best case scenario the pellet goes through the eye into the brain and the fucker drops, next best is you took out one eye and hopefully the fucker dies from an infection.

Wont kill it, but if you shoot it enough it might piss them off until it leaves. There's also a version that shoots real BBs (not airsoft), that probably will kill it.

I use one of these as a sidearm when I play airsoft. Accurate as fuck within 50-75 feet. Gets squirrels to leave real quick too.

This would work well too, but is a bit more expensive. Use one as my primary airsoft gun.

Yeah only problem is I would either have to A) Buy the trap B) rent the trap from them which can only be rented out on a certain day and be back within two days and one trap at a time. Then I would have to transport them and don't want piss/shit/fleas in my car. Not to mention they would probably get caught in it one at a time which means six rentals and 12 trips total to the animal control.

Jorsher and I use to be room mates, but now I live about two hours away. His dog lives around a couple of cats that it hasn't eaten yet, so I don't really think that would work.

My neighbor has a big ass mutt dog that NEVER stops barking. All day, all night, barking. All the neighbors have complained to the owner, the police, and animal control. It's on his property, in a fence, so NOTHING is done about it. I've thought of MANY ways to handle this myself, but can't bring myself to KILL an animal just because it annoys me. Attacking on the other hand, like your situation, should be met with force.

Mom feeds 4 strays and thankfully they were pets that were cut so no kittens in 1.5 years.
