i just bought this here locally in utah for 370.00
came with all except a bottle, which i have. (helium)
its dc only but supposedly if i use helium i can still do aluminum.
the guy i bought it from lived in china and he said that the crappy ones we
get in the US are the ones that they make and export. the one the he had
is supposedly the type that they keep there and use for their own industrial
things.
he says its about $600 in china and double or more than that here in the US.
so what does everybody think of my purchase

show us some weld beads
-
take the cover off and show a picture of the transistors.
its fairly newer as its igbt and not mosfet
-
story is belivable, no one in the us is going to buy an expensive chinese welder, so they only export cheap ones
-
i dont get on here much so i forgot about this thread. ma-bad.
yeah ill take it apart.
i dont know the difference between mosfet and igbt.
i dont yet have 220 to weld with. we're moving at the end of the month
and i should be able to work it then.
ill get pics of the inside. i have to finish wiring up the pedal.
the guy i bought it from is an electrical engineer and makes parts for artificial hearts. i guess he knows what he's doing.
he also showed me a homemade plasma cutter that he was building into a rubbermade type tool box. hahaha. it was sick too.

If this machine was not intended for export, I am curious as to why it has English text on it?

the better question is why is there chinese writing on a machine that is meant for export?

No, not at all. Machines built in other countries are bound to have some of their native language on some of the components.
-
I see you quite few pennies for everyones thoughts. ;D
But since you own mind as well use it any shots of the welds with this thing?
-
My evo is from JDM and all the controls are in english, not japanese. It looks like it belongs over there thats for sure. Make it work and let us see some welds.

This isn't "some of the components" it's the final decal. I could see it go either way. Let's face it...they want to be us. Their machine looks a lot more high class with some 'merkan letters on the side.

its a chinesse welder you want a cookie?
