need to put a lsd into a ls trans, can a type r or jdm b16 lsd be put into a ls trans WITHOUT changing the final drive ratio?
-
B16 is the same diff and FD bolt pattern as LS. If OEM "acorn" diff, you know they aren't very robust?
-
I do know that BUT Is the factory b16a lsd diff swapable for a open diff b16a? I have read that you cannot interchange the two ??? different ring gear ***I THINK*** between the two?
Were not talking any kind of power or traction here a oem diff would work just fine ;)
-
Hrm, you're right I think the ring gear bolt pattern is different. Let me ask.
-
I am pretty sure the b16 viscous pile of fuck shares the same smaller bolt pattern with its B16/LS open differential cousin. i have only seen one in person, and that has been about 3 years ago.
As far as i know, the ITR/GSR differentials are the only ones with the larger bolt pattern.

so the b16 is viscous? not a torsen like my itr?

so the b16 is viscous? not a torsen like my itr?
I am about 99% sure that is the case.
