So I know about hptooners, but what else is out there.
Quick rundown of what we are gona do. I was thinking safc, dsm 450cc injectors, and a msd dis-4 set to just pull a set amount of timing with a hob switch set at 2psi, and go from there. Also gona run a holset h1c with a 18cm exhaust housing. Shooting to get about 300whp out of this car due to the fact I don't feel like spliting 3rd gear sets.
-
Splitting 3rd gear sets? I have to ASSume this is a 5 speed car then.
Didn't know you could use and AFC hack on a mass air car.
If this is for a 3400 powered car, you are fucking retarded. If it is for a 3800 powered car, I still have to ask why?
-
It's a 3800. I head something about going to obd-1 and a chip like the Honda ecu shit.
-
If you don't have to worry about scantool emissions, and aren't worried about super minor bumpy idle, a 7727 and Code59 will do the job. ASSuming that the timing signals generated by the later motor's cam/crank/blah is compatible with or easily reverted to the OBD1 stuff.
I vote HP Tuners/EFI Live. You have to pay attention, though, they don't always fully support some of the odd duck ECUs, or have limitations if you want to turn up the wick later.

It's in the name.
SAFC (Super AirFlow Convertor)
MAF (Mass AirFlow)
What I run on my MAF equipped Spic-V

what about that mega jizz stuff? she mega squirt on me

Wild West. If you don't own a Miata, you don't know what you're getting into with MS without a lot of reseach, and somehow determining whether the rabidly fanatical MS "guru" who offers advice has done it before on your exact car or not, and if they have their head out of their ass enough to understand whether or not the car was running correctly.

searching I found this.....
Tuning can be acomplished by HPT. HPT started off tuning the 3.8l but has since abandoned us and stuck with the LSX market. Because of this, HPT lacks some usefull tables that the lsx market has, a whole lot of them. Its our best option, but If you are a serious tuner, it sucks. I have yet to run into a wall with it, and with some clever tuning, you can pull off what you need done.

So an AFC hack can trick the ECU by modifying a frequency versus a voltage?
Not all mass air flow senors output a varying voltage like a MAP sensor does. The GM mass airflow sensor in this case, as most of them since about 96, output a varying frequency. Can an AFC hack modify that signal as well? I honestly don't know as I don't claim to be an AFC hack guru.
-
Ok, I see what you are saying, and I can't say either way myself. I would ASSume so, but you know where that gets people.
-
i'd vote EFIlive. Our chevy tuner uses it and i must say i am pretty impressed with the layout and how well it works.
-
AFC can do Karman Vortex and other freq based MAFs. AFC are also garbage.

AFC are also garbage.
I dont think you guys understand how much of a budget build I am trying to do on this thing. Its lucky that im even putting bigger injectors in it. I would run a fmu/vice grips if I thought it would last more than a week like this.
-
Then just buy an MS2 kit and deal with it. Even with hiccoughs it'll do a better job, and cost marginally more.
