Looks pricey

My intake manifold setup for the h23a blue top for my crx is pretty simple. Top mount manifold. Cnc ported bottom half manifold+hand finished blending. 83-77mm throttle body. I may add a delrin plenum spacer but the manifold setup should easily outflow the head so I have no worries.

DFE designed? Whats the plenum volume and what wave are the runners tuned to? Pro3's?

DFE designed? Whats the plenum volume and what wave are the runners tuned to? Pro3's?

designed by aaron.  He knows the full details of the build and tailored the manifold around it.  Yea, pro3's  I dont know the answers to those questions as I put everything in his hands.    There will be a dyno comparison between my stock EuroR and this manifold tho while the engine is on Don's engine dyno.

Here's the full run down on the motor:

H23 block bored to 90mm
h23 crank lightened balanced and oiling modified
Custom DFE spec CP pistons (total of ~14:1 compression) built around the Pro3's
Custom BME aluminum H22 rods
ARP main studs
Main oiling system enlarged (mains, bearings, pump)
CC Cylinder heads port work
Skunk2 Pro3 camshafts
Skunk2 Pro valvetrain
Skunk2 oversized valves (the newest design)
Skunk2 Pro cam gears
Gen1 RMF Narrow header (will be designing my own with hood exit)
Injector dynamics 725cc
Aeromotive FPR
Aeroquip fuel feed and return lines (*)
Weirtech custom AL intake manifold
PB Tuning 68mm throttle
custom length tuned megaphone intake

Trans/drivetrain:
comp twin disk
Mfactory LSD
Mfactory 5.15 FD
Syncrotech moly carbon syncros
Gator axles
ESP Traction Bar
Innovative motorsports mounts (*)
Exospeed STAR5 15x8 wheels with 4" backspacing (*)
24.5x8.5 slicks(*)

(*) = still need to buy

i dont have tooo much left.  Bout time cuz its been down since september collecting dust in the shop and im ready to drive this nigger into the ground

whatever happens happens.  I've got an oil temp gauge, oil pressure gauge and a nice crank case vent system.  I'm not reading into the bullshit you hear about AL rods when 99% of the people saying shit will happen are just listening to other people on the internet run there mouth.

I had the option of running carillo ProA's like every other nice NA build or stepping it up and running an AL rod for the same price of the carillos.  It was pretty clear to me.

Bill Miller told me as long as i dont beat on it outside the window of oil temp that he wants me to see when racing, i'll be fine.  I've got a great engine builder and i dont believe he would steer me in the wrong direction.

Aluminum rods work. They just have a fixed and definite life span. Makes them good for race motors, and lousy for street motors.

its not fixed at all from what bill told me.  They have to be treated correctly and given the right conditions/bearing clearances/oiling...etc.  He said if this was for a regular street car that would typically never be beat on, they could last for 100k miles.  Obviously thats not going to happen with this motor as its not truly a street car and im not raelly asking for it to last that long.

I have a daily driver but this car might get driven to work on fridays since that is when most of us drive our race cars to work.  its still registered, insured and tagged.  Trailered to the track where it will spend a majority of its lifetime.  We were also going to run CP low tension rings, but they suggested we not do that since im not running a vacuum pump setup.

i need opinions on anodizing colors since my girlfriend called me gay for wanting basic colors..... :(

so here are some that i liked:

Black IM, Polished/silver Weir Tag, Kawasaki green fuel rail
same as above but with purple rail (wiggins baller coupler purple)

First i told aaron to make the im silver with black tags and black fuel rail.  Apparently that is gay.

throw some serious ideas my way.  The car is metallic red, engine bay is black, block is black, VC will be black, coolant hoses are kawasaki green :)

Please do not anodize that manifold. It WILL look like shit.

Satin (raw) finish and black rail/accessories PLZKTHX

tell your boyfriend to shut the fuck up and call you by my last name next time she sux your cock, shell like it. ALOT....Her invigoration will cause you to like it too.  It wouldnt make you gay, It will just make her a slut.

Definitely nothing wrong with the BME rods, that is what is going in my next motor when this one shits itself.  Just make sure they send you the big rod bolts.

I would love to build a n/a motor someday....good luck!

He has had the block and shit since Jan or Feb.  He had to measure everything and design the internals.  Took a couple months to get the rods and pistons in.  Its taken this long mostly because I don't want to go broke getting this together.  I would send him money as I got it to order parts but we are down to external accessories now like oil pump and shit.

Im 99 percent sure those people expect customs parts to be finished in days and that business revolves around one customer. If you stay in business there is a reason.

I knew it was going to take while.  lately I have been wondering when its gonna start going together and have to tell myself I'm not his only customer and that he has helped me out tremendously by getting me a deal with skunk2.  I've never had a problem getting in touch with him and he doesn't lie to me about the progress.  We ran into making the wait a little longer since the be of the rods didn't clear the main bridge.  So he had to cut the rods per bme recommendations.
Custom motors take time.  I have a daily driver and I told him I'm in no hurry to get it done and he knew what I meant by that.  He's never done me wrong and never led me in the wrong direction in the years I've been calling him even before giving him my business.  that means a lot to me.

I had no idea how slow NA was till I raced a modded ITR. Afterwards the guy was like fUUUUuuuuuuuuu... I'd only go NA on a short-track auto-x car. But even then a JRSC would probably beat it.

Looks good anyways. I can't think of a better guy to deal with, even if he's canadian.

5356 is best for color match when anodizing.  you will see the most difference in the flange... although it isn't as noticeable with a clear.

here is the red one i did for an accord after anodizing:

the mounts are plenty solid.  Anyway, im not going to need to get anywhere close to 100psi.  I believe my compact aeromotive FPR only supports 70 anyway.

How the hell does that happen?  I found a bunch of aluminum chips/curls in an S14 FPR once, still can't figure that one out.
