I'm installing XP with the original disk, and the product key on the sleeve says it's invalid, even though it's all original. I've tried downloading product key this and that on the laptop while trying to get the desktop to fucken run again, but can one of you smart muthafuckers just post a god damn 25 digit key?

you are fast I am slow. don't worry too much, it's just malware & gay porn. That's what you get for asking for serials.
BTW if you have a ligit Windows version, especially Vista, you can call M$ and they'll activate a copy of XP (same or lesser, home vista = home xp). They knew people wouldn't stand for vista.

I just called 24 hours help from Microsoft too, and the robot soundin nigga said my problem wasn't something he handled, that they were closed, blah blah. Then I asked him off the record where that nigga was from, and he said the Phillipeens (fuck you spelling, I'm shitty). Then I asked how the weather was, and hung up on that trick.

Do what the dirty american domestic loving canuk says
-
you can call in office hours and they will ask for the number on the clear part of the disk and procede to give you a new one, did that twice
-
Everything is installed and working now. Still can't figure out why I have no sound, but bitches are better on mute anyway. :noel:
-
Because you need to install the sound driver. Google your computer's model number and you should be able to find a driver.
-
yeah, but this computer was built by some asian kid, so I don't think there IS a manufacturer. What I do know is that it's an Asus board, with an nvidia video card (working fine after driver), and a D-link wireless card (working after driver). Where I plug in the sound looks like it's part of the board itself. There's no big plug in card or anything. I've tried the Realtek driver, as well as a different one, none of which pop up as options after installing in my control panel-sound deal.
I think I'll go to the Asus site and see if they have one.
-
Went there. Have no fucking idea what model or whatever I had, so I figured to stop downloading shit before I really fucked something up.
Simple Altec Lansing speakers hooked into the green headphone jack (just where they always were) Nothin.
-
download/buy(lol) a program called driver genious. it is awesome for finding ALL the drivers that your comp needs.
-
Try that first, but yes you need the driver that matches your motherboard; the sound is built in. Worst case scenario just open up your case and you should be able to find a model number somewhere on the board.
-
Case is already open. I'll look for a model number on the board tomorrow when I can see straight, and go from there.
