Title: control arms now... what's next?
Post by: weirtech on July 05, 2010, 10:23:09 AM
chromoly control arms, powdercoated.  these are 2 lb 15oz compared to the oem cast unit that is 6 lb 3oz.  they are for that same accord i did the intake manifold for.

That is pretty awesome, and you fabrication skills are top notch, but that shit still scares me.

Looks great as always though Aaron.

What is the bushing material of choice for these, monoballs I hope?

How hard is it to find an inexpensive source of chrome-moly steel?

What's with the four useless poll options, Aaron?  There is only one true answer, sir.

THIS. i would love to remove some serious unsprung weight in my eg.

Aaron, do you mind showing the jig you used to make those?

there really isn't much to show on the jig.  it is just two posts for the bushing sleeves, then a couple pieces of angle for the other holes... all mounted on a plate of steel so that i can do both the left and the right on the same jig.

Aaron how much would it be to have you machine the required bits to make these? (not the tubing) I'm interested if the price is right. LMK

no, and i'm not too good with a mig, so it'd probably look just as good as anyone else's flux core.
