Title: AC tig with ac arc welder?
Post by: t_cel_t on August 14, 2010, 12:37:58 AM
my current setup is an mma welder with a tig torch and a high freq box. the machine does output AC, but i dont know what kind of waveform.

anyone ever tried this, i did put the lead in the AC output and when i struck an arc it did act right but the welder was fucking screaming.

i have this whole setup however i never got to use it. since i didnt have 220 in my detached garage. how low does your arc welder setting go. since you have to manually adjust the output on it.

it goes down to 30 amps. i know if it does work the tricky part is going to be guessing the amperage as its just on or off.

exactly cause you cant just adjust it.

but youre saying that regardless it just screams at any amperage.
hmmm?
