Recently picked up a car with a chevy 250 6 cylinder, anyone think a thunderbird turbo would be way too small for this thing? I got a pretty spicy n/a 350 going in soon and want some fun out of the six shooter before it comes out. Ill post pics of said car and 350 later, or at the very least some carnage pics of my 20+ psi built D honda failure of last week... and some titties. peace nigs

Do it, pictures and vids or it didn't happen. ;D
Carnage pictures are the staple of this forum. Second only to porn ;D
-

-
Damn, thats what i was afraid to hear, thanks for the huge let down lol. Carnage pics will be up tomorrow, im taking the motor apart at work, so late in the day they will be up, nogs
-
Holset or bust
-
Wish i had the money for a holset, but im kinda stuck with what i got, which has just become herpes infested with my piss poor tune job
-
Post pics....
-
Tomorrow, my camera is at work, i have been taking pics of my 350 as i have been machining it, i havent even pulled the head off the honda yet, dont want to make a mess of my own garage lol
-
Those motors go boom when they see any kind of forced induction.

Disagree. .60 T3 will make 300 whp, a fucking 250 I-6 doesn't make anywhere near that.

Rings brokeon cyls 1 and 4, partial meltdown on all 4 pistons. The rest of the album is there with more pics and different angles.

You do good work. FYI, the third non-porn pic down, that piston has detonation marks on the sides of the crown.
-
What are the plans for the 350?
-
i have a chevette thats been begging for a 350 for a while, but till that body is ready i have a 66 biscayne to slam it in
-
And will it have turbo(s) strapped to it?
:P
-
no turbo on this 350, i went real cheap on parts, plus im going to start school in a week, im nigged for cash right now. my buddy is building a turbo 318 tho, he has forged guts in er, just working on the body now, ill see if i can talk him into a build thread when he makes some progress, i dont know who wouldnt want to be on a forum full of hate, tits and forced induction

even with the relatively low rpm range that 250 would see, a .63 pump would be out of breath quick, do you not agree? But I guess anything helping that thing out can't really hurt...

So use two of the peices of shit.
-
Does the 250 have split manifolds or the shitty one piece?

i don't think the Chevy 250 I6s came with split manifolds.

You're talking a family of engines that at it's peak was rated at 150 crankshaft hp.

Think highway truck diesel rpm band.
-
There was a handful of companies that made aluminum split manifolds (intake), and tubular and cast split exhaust edilbroke included.

I see you're underrated a little.
The 250-S has 171 Horsepower and 229.7 lb.-ft. at 2,400 rpm
-
I skimmed Wikipedia and that was the biggest figure that caught my eye. IDK what the 250-S came out of, but I had a 78 G10 van with a 250 and have driven several Novas with them, and no way in hell was anything with more than 150 crank hp common.

There is part of a sticker on the valve cover that says 250 turbo something lol. once the 350 is ready to drop in i think i will try the turbo anyways, the six shooter is coming out, may as well see how she does ;D ill post carnage as it happends. got another d16 block and vitara pistons on the way, compression is gonna be damn low with the eagle rods i figure, plus my new cometic head gasket is fifty thou thick and its a6 head on the new z6 block

Sounding like Flathead Ford SCR territory there.
-
huh? lol will it work?
-
huh? lol will it work?
It worked on flatheads and other L-head engines.
BTW, the Sticker probably says 250- Turbo Thrift.
-
nice, thanks

Carnage is cool, but do this right! I'm too old to remember what era engine this is, and too drunk and arrogant to bother with going back and reading, but if it's carby then the outer cyls furthest away from the carb will be a LOT leaner due to fuel fall out. Jet rich, read plugs, try to borescope the pistons for how the carbon coat forms, DO WORK.
I'm proud to know you.
-
werd. thought about the fueling issue and was considering a dirty dual carb setup to make up for the lean ends, another factory 1bbl carb should help out enough i would hope, some kind of square pipe intake and exhaust manifold that looks like it could fall off would do the trick. 66 biscayne four door btw

As is i drove it home from 45 mins out of town, one rocker stud pulled out of the head on intake valve for cyl 2, rocker sitting sideways and pushrod was beside it lol its much cleaner now and has better tires on it, but same old 6 cyl. paid 600 for it
-
That's a nice car for $600.
-
thanks man, its pretty clean inside for its age, mice fucked the headliner and some of the back seat, but not the outer seat cloth just the insides so it still looks ok, heres a some pics of when i strippped the interior and welded and painted up the floor. Flux core O0
