i read that book and if i remember it ended badly when everything started to melt

I read it in elementary school.  Book was basically a kid's version of the classical King Midas story.  Not sure why that story needed to be dumbed down for kids though, but since this is america, any dumbing down makes sense at face value.

And yeah, what the fuck are you doing in a children's library?

I gathered the midas parallel. The title just caught my eye. I agree on the why, the original wasn't that tough lol.

Was an open house at my girls 4 year old sons school lol.

Maybe someone decided that kids might not have developed enough materialism yet to think of gold being all that awesome, and chocolate is something just about anyone would agree is fucking awesome.  Although the idea of gold being able to just pay for chocolate kinda shoots a hole in that.  I dunno, I'm a bit baked.
