Alright I hate to ask it but......................
-
If its for a gsr, buddy of mine has a set of almost brandnew jenveys for the cheap
-
I would kill for jenveys but its a itr head. If they are really cheap I could swap out the mani.
-
I have a read a few times that they will work well if you replace all the hardware (nuts and bolts) and use washers to take up some slop in the linkage.
-
I saw a set in person maybe 6 months back. The linkage set up is terrible and the springs they use are to weak to set the throttle plates back from wot back down to idle. Basically from what I looked at the car will never idle correctly with them and they are small for itb's anyways.
Just get a type r clone manifold+ported. More than enough

not an option, its either itbs or custom intake.

Honda motor, non honda chassis...
Still should have just done a boosted D. :-*
-
Oem b16a manifold runners+box plenum welded on. Done. Easy cheap and works.

not unless there are some 90's or maybe 45's welded right after the injectors

the subframe will be setup for both b's and d's. It will have a turbo d in it at a later date. It waould be alot easier if it didn't need a intercooler :-\

;) wait for build thread

If you need itb's just go with Jeff frank spec shit. Cut up an oem manifold/the biggest cycle itb's you can source aka busa's
-
well that the other plan but I was hoping for 240whp and I think the biggest is still too small. Boring is an option but then the price gets closer to just buying something.
PBT sponcership? lol
-
Yes if you want to sponsor me thats fine.
-
... I was hoping for 240whp...
So you are going turbo then. :P

or just spend too much money and fail. (see plan b)

great! did my brake diagnostics help you at all?
-
residual pressure valves caused nothing but grief.
talked to wilwood techs this morning, turns out there is a goofy way to bleed a brake system with balance bars on the masters. spent a good while doing that today, seems to be doing better. Gonna road test it tmrw once i can figure out why the fuel pump circuit is blowing fuses randomly now...ugh stupid car, i just want it out of my shop. :(
-
so thats a no, lol. :-[
-
The only reason anyone should go NA is if some nog stole their turbo. Or they're swapping in a J-series.
-
Personally after doing the whole rhmt itb thing years ago, it was a really fun project but i gathered that it really wasn't worth it in the end unless your doing it for the sole purpose of fucking around and building shit. and buying a prebuilt set of itb's kinda defeats the purpose , right?
Although this winter i'm temped to build a custom set of 38mm or so itb's for the a6 with a custom plenum.(turbo is staying of course) might be fun, idk.
-
I'm doing it for lack of room. The car will weigh fuck all anyways, should still be quick, if it sucks I will stick the swap into a eg hatch and sell it to some douch bag to go built turbo d.
-
they are small for itb's anyways.
I didn't know they were THAT small, fuck that.

there only small if you think you can ONLY use 50mm+ itb's.
-
so thats a no, lol. :-[
not necessarily. Ill know more tmrw.
-
Make a set of these. It honestly doesn't look all too difficult

On ohmt jeff had a write up on how to do these on the old projects section.

45mm is not going to feed a high rpm 2.0l hoping for 240 whp worth a shit, if it would I would run bike shit over obx for higher quaility anyways.
-
Start doing your homework. Maybe some of the new cycle stuff got bigger from when i was doing alot of it. My assumption is they most likely did and can be bored 2-3mm larger
The only thing that will cost money is buying the cycle itb's+machine work. I still think it can be done for under 600 bucks even if you go the route of having the throttle bodies bored.
-
Iirc, it is quite common to bore out the 44mm zx-14 throttle bodies to 46mm.
-
Or two sets of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Polaris-Fusion-900-mikuni-throttle-bodies-2005-2006-IQ-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53e2d1f1ceQQitemZ360287695310QQptZSnowmobileQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Polaris-Fusion-900-mikuni-throttle-bodies-2005-2006-IQ-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem53e2d1f1ceQQitemZ360287695310QQptZSnowmobileQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)
-
M1000's run a pair of 50mm throttle bodies for a ~160hp so with 4 of them they should easily support the 240hp you are looking for.
-
Brett thats some good thinking right there ;)
-
I really want this to be a turbo setup, but since you're so set on at least trying N/A, I might as well help out a bit...
For more options 2009-10 CRF450R's used 50mm throttle bodies too, the 2011's dropped down to a 46mm something about throttle response or marketing hype or...
-
i have a set of custom itbs that will fit along with everything else like a fuel pressure reg, etc for that car. let me know if your interested.
