I've noticed that with the exception of 2, that every cop I've ever talked to, think their POLICE CRUISER is fast as fuck. It's got the "interceptor motor!" they claim. How can ANYONE drive a 16 second car EVERY day, and come up with the thought that it's fast? How do they think the p71 package has anything to do with speed, other than some restrictive 2" dual exhaust? How is a car that takes 5 minutes to get to 135 fast? I had a cop the other day tell me "it's faster than my 82 vette, and that thing will FLY". What the fuck do cops smoke? It's a FUCKING TAXI PACKAGE YOU MORON

yup, and the one of the 2 guys I was talking about was from ARS. I used to hang out with a couple crews off that forum occasionally, track days, cruises, and such. But the younger kids acting fucking retarded and getting cops called to us, and that led to the older guys not wanting the "ricers" hanging out with them and such. It just got to be too much drama.

With the exception of HMT folks, I try to avoid "hanging out" with "car people" because they're usually a bunch of morons that ultimately just piss me off.

Tell them to drive >90 on a 3-land highway near the peak of rush hour in Milwaukee. That's what my bro has to do on occasion. The streets are crazy as fuck here.
The cars aren't really fast, they are just have a well-designed package to keep them on the road. They get are taught how to drive them fast, are allowed to drive them fast, and get used to driving them fast. So they naturally think their confidence is from the car itself being fast, rather from them being experienced. Plus they normally drive sloppy pieces of shit lifted trucks or family sedans off-duty.
I can tell you this, a 94 CX hatch with a stock B18B1 swap is faster than a cruiser. And that's not saying a whole lot. Most cops would shit themselves if they took a hot lap in a 300hp boosted EF.

The County Cops around here drive V8 Chargers. They're pretty fast for cruisers. City only has the 3.9L Impalas.

The chargers are alot better in that regard, but still, to real car people, they are still slow. mid 14 sec car, but has a decent top end around 150ish. Still don't handle like an "econobox" with simple springs and struts and good tires. Especially at speed.
