So I'm finishing up gathering parts for the LS-VTAK FABLAD CRX build and being that it's my DD, can't afford to have more downtime than a weekend. Need to make sure I have everything in order.
Purchased:
B18B block
B16A head
B16A transmission
GSR crank
GSR TT rods
GSR Wiseco pistons
Cometic headgasket to drop compression to 9.2:1
ARP headstucks
OBD1 conversion harness + vtec/dizzy? wires
GSR cams
B16A intake manifold
B16A exhaust manifold
CRX SiR shift linkage
Innovate mounts
ACL bearings
Chipped P28
Integra axles
Need to order:
ACT or LSD clutch
Seal kit
VTEC conversion
Integra half-shaft
Timing belt
VTEC dizzy/water pump
Missing anything? Tips for shit to be prepared for when swapping?
I'm a noob and have not swapped an engine (other than replacing a B-series). Need my car to run that weekend.

Sounds like you have pretty much everything taht you can't easily get a hold of.
B swaps in an EF are cake.
As long as you don't have an Hf or didn't somehow end up with Hf or STD knuckles, then you should be pretty much set.
The radiator hoses can be a bitch to get a hold of. Nobody around here carries the 92-93 GSR upper hose, not that it fits the Civic radiator fitting anyway.
I honestly don't know what most do with that situation. I already had the hose and cut a piece of the CRX hose and made a ghetto reducer with it.

Hm, so the head outlet doesn't match the radiator outlet? It's an SI so shouldn't have to worry about the knuckles.
Anything extra as far as sensors that will need to be hooked up since it's an OBD1 engine in an OBD0 car? I know the dizzy connection will be different and o2 sensor is different?
ls intake > b16 intake
bolton compatibility, i'm unsure of, but i remember one of the og's saying b16a intake sucks balls
Can anyone confirm if it's bolt on and better?
-
B series intake manifolds dont interhchange/bolt up. I did a whole write up on the old site
You match the manifold with the head
If you want a bolt on affair you will need a 1990-1993 integra throttle cable also

Cool, good to know. I'll probably go with the innovate bracket for the throttle cable, lets me keep the stock one and I think it was only $10-15. Not worth the gas/hassle/cost to try to find the throttle cable and replace it, I'm lazy.
Clutches are supposed to match to the transmission or engine? Or b-series doesn't matter?

Your swaping in a B so I think you ment some thing else when you said FABLAD...
It should be F.A.K.L.A.D,B,F.....

You are right.
My mistake.

You need to see which year tranny you have, they made the b16 cable trannys with 2 different sized input splines. The older smaller ones, which uses the 90-91 integra clutch disc, or the bigger one which uses the 92-up disc.

josh with a running car thats not a stock pos half jammed under a truck!? :o
Perhaps we will see the day.
Who gets boost first, you or buk? :P
-
What about fuel feed line to your fuel rail? It depends on witch rail you have. And longer clutch cable from a 90-93 teg. I think the crx one will work, but its kinda a stretch. Radiator hoses are kinda funky. I know that the crx radiator is 1 1/8" and the B series (Ls I know for sure) are 1 1/4" Just use the b hoses and hose clamp the shit out of them. I will have a future write up of a trick ass alternative to the half core in the crx's. ;)

he has hydro jdm y21 b16a trans
-
Yup, hydro trans. Thanks Chris :P
Friend found a halfshaft for me and axles came in today so that's two less things.
I got the half rad because I figured space was limited enough. Trying to keep AC and boost (eventually). Looking forward to the writeup, though.
I'll be using a cable/hydro conversion that seems like the best method. Completely gets rid of the cable, but I'll have to find the link.
Fuel rail and injectors are actually a couple more things I need to get. Any suggestions?
BTW, Buk will beat me to boost unless he takes a year.

Seals/gaskets:
- cam seals
- valve cover gasket/grommets
- intake/exhaust gaskets
- oil pan seal
- valve stem seals
- rear/front main seals
- head gasket
Am I missing any of these?
