fuck any thing like starters/alternators/dizzys that arent oem, shit is hit and miss.
not sure about honda starters, but if they are anything like toyota/nippon denso gear reduction starters they never go bad. you just got to throw new contacts in.

fuck thats what i should of did to my 84 toyota supra's starter. that sounds like exactly what went wrong with mine(my first thought wasnt even the starter, thought it was the ignition switch). now i have a shitty reman. it works but takes about twice as long to start up. use to start up before you even turned the key.

I worked at a shop not too long ago that pretty much only used napa parts. Most of it was fine, but we wouldnt use their starters and alternators at all.

just get the lifetime warranty if it's something you drive/plan on keeping.  Napa is expensive.

Yeah and after the 3rd tow that free replacement deal doesnt look so nice. Why don't you just source good used oem parts its not hard and alot cheaper than that reman shit from Mexico.

I know the jdm thing most people think is a joke but most importers have bins of good used low mileage alternators, starter etc on the cheap.

well im going to get another one tomarro..

i should be fine connecting the battery to the starter when its installed on the car already rigiht?

just + - and jump the + to the spade terminal

i want to check it cranks nice and clean with no grinds before i put the stupid intake manifold back on

just slap it in, hook up the heavy gauge positive and hit the smaller gauge terminal with a + trigger.

Even better, just hook everything up and use the key to crank.
