I have an idea that has never been done before but should be I need help with a patent either help with how about to get one someone to give me a direction as to who to call see etc. Its something very simple and has the potential to create a whole new market.

My advice, don't patent it. Keep the project underwraps, be the first to market, be priced so that you can make money but in a capacity that it is difficult for others to jump in. Ride it out for as long as you can and than move on to something else.

You need to apply with USPTO.

For not much money you get a basically temporary patent.  They don't do the checks to see if it's already been patented until you pay the full price, but it gives you a year to see if anyone would be interested in manufacturing it without them having the right to steal your idea.

Within the year you have to apply for the final actual patent and pay a bit more money.

Personally, I wouldn't trust a 3rd party with the idea.  You can do an hour of research on the uspto website and know everything you need to know.  It's actually surprisingly simple to find what you need to know on their website.

I don`t work in the plastics industry but build tooling for it so I could likely give you a rough idea what some of this stuff can cost. Quick hint is that start up costs are more than you could have imagined and product cost would be low.

Yeah I see tooling cost in the foundry business.

I rarely see tooling for less than $10k.

The more complex the tooling the more expensive.  ;D

Look into injection molding.  ;D

pry around 15 thou depends i need to know how thick it needs to be to get it to melt together and provide a good strong bond just using fusion welding

15 thous is plenty thick enough to use something other than celophane, which I would try to do for strength reasons, there is some rpetty crazy engineered plastics out there.

I looked into it before, patents suck now. You'd want to document your design paperwork with a notary public in case someone trys to patent it themselves. But no matter what - it would a legal nightmare. Basicly you aren't covered until the patent is accepted. Patent-pending just means another person runs the risk of no company profit if they have to pay royalties. Trying to get money from some chinaman across the sea would be impossible anyways.

BTW look into high frequency welding for thin plastics.
