um....as far as i can tell that motor has no intercooler? why dont they run one of those water/air ic's that go between the blower and manifold?
or are they running meth?

but still couldnt you run a water/air ic and have awesome air temps. or with alchy is it not much of a difference, im not really familiar with the fuel.

They usually have plenty of power as it is. It's a matter of getting the prop to bite and keeping the hull right on the edge of control.

if you put rubbing alcohol on your hand its cold much the same when it gets injected into an intake manifold.
Some tractor puller and drag racing guys have a problem of icing up the intake due to a lot of fuel at very high pressures.
an I/C would cause the situation to be worse.
When I ran my dsm on straight ethanol (scored from work) i didnt run an intercooler and after a run my intake manifold depending on weather was either
slightly warm to damn near freezing. I am planning on running a lowish boost setup on e85 with either a air/water or no I/c at all

If I keep my car an outlaw car, I'm ditching the intercooler and BOV.  I don't think it's worth the 40lbs for what I get on a drag only car.

Its kinda the same thing how c02 or propane tanks get cold when they vent something going from high pressure liquid to low pressure vapor with pull
heat out of the surrounding air to vaporize the liquid thus cooling the charge. think nitrous
