so yesterday i got a dui case dissmissed (state police) ...and today i got a ticket from a state cop on a power trip.....
i was driving throught a toll plaza (10mph sign i was goin 5mph) i then did a fist gear pull no tires spinnin went into secound then costed into 3rd top speed 40mph ..... cop starts ridding my ass to the point i thought he was gunna hit me .... i get pulled over (shocker) he comes up to my window get me license and reg, then procedes to cus at me sayin fuck this and fuck that "did you not fucking see me" (well if i did i would of gone slow) he then goes back to his car and comes back with a ticket for $170.00 for
care when stopping- $85
? and prudent speeds- $85
i then ask him what i got stopped for he then asks if i cant read ( i can just not his hand writing)
so should i go to court?
should i file a citizen complaint ? any issues with doin this ? court?
-
Go dick his daughter down correctly
-
not into black girls ( not bein racist just no attraction )
-
All you can do is go to court and say the same thing you said here.
I used to think accelerating quickly was fine as long as I didn't pass the speed limit, until I heard you can still get cited for it. Unfortunately I don't remember what the citation is called, and it probably varies state-to-state anyway.
I'm assuming you're driving a Honda. Probably just used to dickheads driving like dickheads and is profiling your ass.
-
Depends. Find out first if said officer gets X amount of complaints and undergoes summary suspension. Chances are if he's all freaking out about you not even breaking traction on your way to 25 mph he has a history of emotional irrationality towards lane changes without signaling, physically assaulting jaywalkers or people who spit on the grass, etc., and your complaint will be VERY well received.
Some locales, however, purposely discourage you making a complaint. Won't even talk to you. Some of those feed your info back to the officer in question so that he knows to harrass you further. In either case, contact internal affairs ASAP because if it turns into the cop looking for you then IA needs to know you have an issue with the guy before he finds you again.

They call it exposition of speed here. :-\
-
cops don't like people who accelerate to or out of toll plazas (especially because lanes aren't as defined coming out of toll plazas... you'd be surprised how many accidents happened there)
i got pulled over for almost the same thing i had improper plate on a car i had just bought and he let it go i could tell he was pissed tho...
cops that sit at toll plazas get pissed when people pretend they are not there
i hate it when cops ride my ass everytime it happens i get the urge to stand on the brakes lol

Ah yes, I think they call it "gross display of power" or "reckless display of power" or something lame here. I've heard the "exposition of speed" name though.
I just simply avoid doing that, and if I feel like I must then I look for cops first... Of course that doesn't always prevent you from a reckless driving ticket :(
I know what you mean about cops riding asses. Fuckers do it all the time and it really pisses me off, but I just continue going the speed limit. Had one tailgating on my way home and made sure I came to a complete stop before slowly pulling into my driveway just to piss him off a little further. Being a dick isn't against the law.
-
I have the answer... It costs $50.... :P
There's an old saying round these parts.... You piss the bed you sleep in it!
Anyways.... I tryed to told em...
-
its your fault for allowing your state to collect tolls from you to drive on the roads
-
in CT they call it unsafe movement.
-
same shit happend to me: "excessive acceleration" as the cop said i told him "umm this car doesnt like to accelerate slowly" went to court and told the judge look i drive a civic its not a corvette how fast do you think i can possibly accelerate certainly not as fast as this officer is saying i am. haha and it ran low 13s
-

It's rather simple. Get someone not easily identified as known to you, find where he hangs out, and have him call in that he saw him flying down the road when you see him cruising. They'll note the time, figure where he was & that he was not on an emergency call, etc.
and if I feel like I must then I look for cops first...
Bingo. No problems after adding that to my list. Today I scoped around, then went through a yelllow->red turn at 17psi today on questionable pavement during rush hour, and continued on my merry way unabated.
-
Alabama law is "unlawful acceleration". I've got one before I knew it existed, and have watched my ass since.
-

You're from the East coast, where they have the above "laws", although they're just vague terms that mean the cops get to make you a criminal when they don't like you.
My suggestion is that the people around you who let these vague laws go into effect are morons. You're better served by a state with a tad more rule of law/sense. That means......move!

Exhibition of speed, here in CA. Sometimes, when I see people scooting down the road like that, I think they're running from me. So I stop them to find out wassssaaaap. If they're otherwise good people and have the required ins/reg/lic and no warrants, I kick them loose without a ticket.
I have a strange outlook... If you're endangering yourself, good for you. Survival of the fittest. If you're endangering others, however, we gonna talk.
Yeah. Let the flaming begin... It's a freaking job...
BTW, to the OP... It doesn't hurt to let the agency know how their agent is treating the public. Of course, you're the knuclehead that caused the encounter by not being aware he was sitting RIGHT THERE...

the reason to stop was because i didnt have a front plate mounted TO MY BUMPER it was in my window cuz my bumper was off. cops never saw the rear end of my car, so my lawyer dismissed my case by sayin that how did the cop know i was a rhode island resident when he never verified by seeing my rear plate.... other states dont NEED front plates ........ our fun little state does ......so i got by because we proved that there was no valid reason to stop

Here in Wyoming cops stop you for no front plate, so you are not alone on this.
When I here of "RI police" in the same sentence I think of Me, Myself, and Irene. ;D  :noel:

Cause hes a pig and they do what they want.
That said it sucks that you got off on your DUI charge for petty bullshit. Point blank if you wernt fucked up you wouldnt have gotten a ticket. I dont feel sorry for anyone over DUI or DWI charges, if you're stupid enough to drive fucked up or whatever then if/when you get caught you sorta deserve it. Its called cause and effect.
and if what the Pirate said above is true, ... If you're endangering yourself, good for you. Survival of the fittest. If you're endangering others, however, we gonna talk.
which i doubt, then for every one of you there are 100000 other pigs who would certainly ticket/arrest for whatever they saw so long as it could be considered breaking the law.
Sidebar: good to know there are Police in GD though. FYI.

Sounds reasonable. Particularly in residential neighborhoods, or clusterfuck traffic areas.

Better a car guy who's always struck me as reasonable than some asshole with a chip on his shoulder left over from HS. Somebody's got to do the job.

I don't see how people can comfortably put every cop into an "asshole" category without feeling like a moron. There are good, decent cops, and assholes -- just like with every other profession.
-
true but every time i try to think that i get proven wrong. what i find is every cop isn't an asshole when they aren't in their cruiser or in uniform.
I don't really think every dude with a badge is "an awful degenerate asshole cop waiting to screw me" but i do have to say that i avoid them to be on the safe side, not worth the chance.
I'm a pretty quiet dude, i don't go out racing my sweet VW, i don't really go to crazy 100+ people house partys or do other things that may attract cops so my interactions with them aren't as much as others here lol, but even still i find that the encounters i do have with them are usually unpleasant.
-
Yeah, I don't do any of that either and still try to avoid cops since the CRX seems to bring up their hate and jealousy, but despite all the tickets I've had -- they've let me go many times. Any ticket I've been given was my fault, so it's difficult for me to get pissed about it. I've had my share of cops asserting their "authority" and being bastards for no reason too, but I'm just not a fan of the "fuck cops" mentality.
They deal with some of the biggest piles of shit on a daily basis for pay that's usually pretty darn crappy. I'm sure that has some effect on their attitude towards the general public, which doesn't justify how some act but it at least makes it understandable.

I cant deny my "fuck cops" attitude but still have absolutely nothing to argue this statement with cause its true. IMO its not a reason to act the way Ive seen cops act but like you said, who knows how id react if it were me. I mean for instance look at how my interactions with cops has changed my attitude, cant imagine what would happen if my job was to deal with the scum of the earth on a daily.
I think my main beef stems from being the younger one in the situation. Now that im getting older i don't have the same issues but i have been given a ticket once and threatened with one during another altercation just solely because i was the youngest one. Lady pulls out of a turn lane and clips me and cops cite me, still didn't get that one. but she was like 30-40 and i was about 18 so naturally it was my fault. Went to court and it was dropped.
I guess i dont hate cops, i just dont trust them.

Oddly, my most pleasant experiences with cops have been either when I got a speeding ticket (55mph divided highway, was doing 70-ish because I forgot it was a 55, was snowing a little so he wasn't being too lenient), and when I've had conversations with state troopers. Almost every local cop I've dealt with has been a complete dick to me (pulled over for a stock exhaust because the factory tip is "shiny" several times). The times when I wasn't doing anything, they were assholes. The times when I actually broke the law, they went out of their way to make things go smoothly and not ruin either person's day.
I still feel like labelling most cops with the asshole category, due to the "above the law" mentality, and their fellow officers covering for their ass when they get caught doing stupid things like beating someone up for no reason (or the ridiculous "you can't videotape police officers" thing). Yes, there are bad cops, but when good cops protect the bad ones, they become bad cops too. Although in my area, one of our police departments just fired 8 officers for various corruption, so that's a start.
Oh, and when I get tailgated by them (usually while going 5 over), I touch the brakes to light up the brakelights, and slow down. I've gotten it down to 15mph on a 30mph street before he realized that I'd speed back up when he got off my bumper. If he had an emergency to get to, he'd have his lights on. Since they weren't, he has no more right to tailgate me than anyone else. As far as I'm concerned, I'm being safer, by travelling at a more appropriate speed for his following distance while giving him room to pass me.
-
I've been building a case against everyone here. You're all gonna get it. lol. :P
Btw, I'm not a state cop.

Hey at least you admit it. My bro just says he works for the city. He actually enjoyed his job chasing nignogs. He hates the house invasion investigation shit he's doing now though.
If a cop hates doing their traffic duty, either suck it up or go into cosmetology. Don't take it out on others, since it's the only occupation where the customer is always wrong.

Most of the laws that are written are about making people into criminals not catching actual criminals. Its all just an excuse to profile people so they can dig through their trunk. If I was a cop I would not bother to pull anyone over unless someones life was in danger or they were committing an actual crime.
