Well my father-in-law was driving his 89 hf home from work the other day, and on the way home he was attempting to cross the hwy and 8 min later hes standing on the side of the road totaly out of it. Crx in the ditch and some integra all smashed up sitting the wrong way in the on-coming lane. Needless to say hes lucky to be alive. The ekid in the integra is ok too. By definition it was my father-in-laws falt, the kid was speeding doing 15-20+ over(speed limit in this area is 40mph) the speed limit, no headlights on (6am in the moring) and it was really foggy out. Long story short kid in his da integra got a concussion from his flying speaker box...lol and totaled his car. My father-in-law broke his ankle, a couple of ribs, and cuts and bumps. Had to have 2 pins pun in his ankle on tuesday. But I will say this hf got fucked, Just glad it wasent a bigger car that hit him.

Glad everyone's ok, CRX looks like it held up pretty well for an 1800 lb car in a 40 mph collision! I always that that would be instant death in one of those.

I'll agree that from the looks of the car it could of been much worse. Hopefully he has solid insurance since he will most likely be out of work for a couple months. Ankle injuries are no joke and seem to take forever to heal.
I'm assuming you guys are pulling parts then sending this off to the scrap yard.

Mine is snapped in half and I don't have AC anyway.
My friend was involved in a wreck where someone went into oncoming traffic and hit someone head-on. Died because his speakerbox nailed him in the back of his head :P

Oh yes, we were pulling all the parts from this car. I'm gona probably put the AC/heater controls in my crx. Everything else will be pulled and either put it to the side for another shell, of I will keep it in a pile for my car.

Damn dude that is really bad I would strip it to the core even as far as cutting the rockers and a good portion of the quater off those in them selves are worth 100 for a good rust free one.
Glad he is alright and glad the car isnt rusty that rocker saved him from much worse

What about the plastic piece that goes around where the rear-view meets the root? Mine just randomly fell off one day, then got stepped on and snapped. If you can get it off without breaking it, I'll send a few bucks. Just seems to snap in.

couple tugs with a slide hammer and some PDR work no sweat straighter than factory. I would be more worried of putting a scratch in it taking it off :?:

No neck or back pain. Skid marks from the teg was only 30' its a good thing he's a small guy. The only other thing that saved him is that he was wearing his bullet proof vest. He's a armed guard at a local ammo depot for the navy. If he would have seen the car coming they said he would have tensed up and been worse off.
As for parting it out, well I have a 90 crx, my sister-in-law has a 89 crx, and my sister has a 91 civic si. So between the 3 of us we might eat up a lot of the "hard to find" parts. Also you can see in a couple of pics in the background he has another 89 crx si. So we might just throw the drivetrain in that and make another running car. Idk yet as its not my car. But if he does want to part it out I will make a post in the fs section.

BTW, CRX was rated "poor" for side-impact ratings in Australia. USA didn't rate it, as far as I can tell :P
Mine handled a front-end wreck decently, but it's still one of the lowest vehicles on my list for safety...
He's lucky to be relatively alright.

I should post pictures of my dads truck when he rolled it. He jumped about 70 feet long down into a ditch that was 20ft below the road on a corner. He was in his truck for about 1hr-2hrs upside down before someone noticed him.

Probably hit her a couple inches more towards center, or she was leaned up against/into the door when it caved in so it caused internal injuries.
Having bought two wrecked DAs that looked like that, I'm surprised he didn't break his leg higher up and that there wasn't more blood. The first DA I bought I almost walked away from buying because of all the blood, I thought someone had died. Turned out the girl driving just broke her leg and bled a pint or so while thrashing around waiting for the ambulance.
