excuse me sir, would i be able to send you my hacked engine harness and inside harness and make the necessary repairs. i may still buy that gsr EF but has major wiring issues. I dont really want to deal with them since I dont have any time but $1500 for a GSR EF is pretty cheap imo. LMK
-
Jay you bastard let me get the damn gsr ef and Ill fix the wiring in an afternoon
Thank You sir
-
I'm not sure if you use sheilded wire, but on my EF harness I eventually had to use sheilded 2-pair 22awg phone wire for that crazy dizzy sensor. The first EF wasn't as picky as the second, so I know some cars are worse than others.
Not a bad price though. It's quite a bitch to get it just right.

what kind of problems come with using regular wire on the dizzy sensor?
i got strait wire on mine right now and i swear the timing is constantly moving, just doesnt feel right.
that and weird misses every once in a while.

Here's your sign.

Well I don't have anything to compare to, the original duel point ran like shit.
-
yeah, and it got awesome mileage... what ever happened to JD's high mileage mission?

The Y5 Type R is in bone's possession I think.

And Dennis is abusing the transmission.

Yeah I used shielded wire in all my harnesses with shrinkwrap for that extra protection. ;)

Mine was Code 4 w/limp mode. Otherwise it would have audible random misfires. I partially fixed it by running 16awg from the dizzy to the ecu by routing it out the hood, between the body panel, and in through the door. Too ghetto though, but eventually I saved up for the sheilded stuff. It cost a crazy $0.19 per foot IIRC
.
With a Z6 IM and an a6/b7 map I put together myself, I managed 42mpg once, and >38mpg average with that EF 4dr. With a Z1 IM, you could easily hit >45mpg on the cheap.

Bone is the current owner of the y5hyper, but it is sitting in my basement... dmc has possession of the trans. but cannot install it cause the splines don't match his act friction disk. The trans may end up going to Tim Schoney...
