Title: How do you know when a wideband o2 sensor is bad?
Post by: jdmhatchracer94 on March 07, 2009, 07:42:15 PM: I dunno bought a used plx m300. put the thing in the way i got it. it reads air when costing. lean at around 75% throttle in any gear I have a completely stock ecu on an almost stock motor. damn thing reade in 11s and 12s at idle some times. I figure it's shot but for any new people that come here figure it would help if anyone could tell me wtf

It should be lean when coasting if you are not opening the throttle at all, because of fuel cut.

Most stock maps are actually pretty rich, like mid 12's to higher 11's fom what I have seen.

If the engine is indeed idling at 11 to 12 at times, you should definitely be able to hear a difference and smell the raw fuel.

I have been using the same sensor for a couple of years to tune cars. I ran one in my GSR for several months as well. Pretty sure I am going to either have my other LC-1 fixed, it has seen better days lol, or pick up another to run in the daily.

If you are unsure about the condition of the sensor, you can always pick one up for a reasonable price.

Post by: DmC on March 08, 2009, 12:30:49 AM: They get wierd sometimes. I had one that would read 11.5 at wot no matter what I could lean the car out until it would miss fire and the sensor would still read wrong.

I got a new one and it worked correctly after that. They only cost about $50 I grab a new one every few months now.

The part # is bosch 17014 works great I usually them for less than 60usd

Plx m300 self calibrates, So no calibrating is needed.

It's still more accurate than that AEM POS you have.

Also, Klaus warranties all of his defects. It doesn't matter if you are the original owner, have a receipt, etc, if it's one of the early ones with the glitchy analog outputs consider it replaced.

Dude Phillipe is a good guy to. Innovate has repared my lm-1 twice. Both times it was my fault but there were no questions asked on their end they just fixed it and sent it back.
