Title: My brothers Company/website
Post by: hatchbox90 on April 12, 2009, 09:36:17 PM
So my brother has been doing CAD work since he was in highschool (hes 29 now) and hes had his own company/contractors license for about 5 years now.  His designs are some of the coolest shit ive ever seen, he is really into modern style houses and commercial buildings. His website just got started and it doesnt show too many finished projects other than his last 2 houses, which he designed and built himself.  He is one of those guys who knows something about pretty damn near anything

http://www.dreambuildershomes.com/ (http://www.dreambuildershomes.com/)

if you go into the portfolio section it has pictures of his last 2 houses

And yes im pretty sure none of you give a shit but i think its pretty bad ass, the housing market in my area was booming the past 10 years.  If any of you nogs are looking to build/completly remodel your house and make it look Baller status check his shit out

I like hardwood and open spaces, that looks like creatively cluttered interior decoration.  Cool as hell, but hard to live in without everything looking trashed because you have a jacket draped over the back of one chair, a bag on the counter, and some mail on a table.

His houses have been pretty damn open, the family room in his last house had 18' ceilings with tounge and groove stained wood and was about 25'x30', could see half of the house just from being in the kitchen area.  He doesnt like wasted space at all.  I wish i had more pictures of his house.  ill try to dig them up

I'd venture to say these homes are for wealthy people who are in these homes 25 days out of the year, or close to it. -or older/retired people.

I could be wrong.

But your right. For someone such as myself, those homes arent practical. Nice, but not for me.

I would say that 18' ceilings and doesn't like wasted space at all kind of go against eachother..

Well you would be surpised on how much it costs to build a house yourself compared to having a company build it for you.  These are between 300k and up, all depends on what you want.

You would be surprised on how much space is wasted on spec homes. the 18' ceilings makes the room seem twice as large as it is, its kinda like vaulted ceilings are supposed to give a room a "larger" feel to it than standard ceilings.

You sir are a tool

Sorry its not a Judas Priest song
