Title: Sweet dirtbike/dual sport
Post by: stealthiskey on November 03, 2011, 11:32:23 PM
Looking to get a badass offroad bike that I can make street legal and ride around town.

Here's what I want
<200 lbs
mostly dirt bike, 30% street bike
Enduro style OK, but want a badass motor (swap?)
older and cheap
2 stroke greatly preffered

got myself a KE100.  its pretty cool, but no title, no lights, no legal.  Also, needs more offroad badassery.
What other options are out there?

hard to search for this shit, especially from the 80s

Hard to

Enduros/dual sport/supermotos are gay. The end.

40+ hp out of 125 cc is pretty neat...

If you're implying that a "real" motorcycle is the only thing worthwhile, I think you're missing the point.  Take your gsxr off some sweet jumps yo!

I like dirt bikes and I like sport bikes, I don't see the desire to mix the 2 or ride either one on the others turf. Although, a 2 stroke sport bike sounds fun.

Dual sports are as gay as aids. I have owned several, never again. Far better to just have a dirt bike.

I have had:
XR650
KTM525
DRZ400

I currently have a KTM 300. Best decision I ever made for bikes was to get this and ditch the 525.

Your argument is invalid.

That SV was actually doing a race weekend, and the guy got bored and took off the lower fairings and went out for a few laps on a supermoto course that was having a track day.  And 2 stroke sportbikes are bad ass.

That pic is funny, but a sport bike on dirt looks awkward

Got to ride around on a Ducati Diavel this week thanks to a magazine buddy and Ducati.  Gonna be doing a write up on it for a magazine.
