I think its pretty cool, looks like quite a challenge to keep that thing from hitting shit, whats powering that thing?
-
Rally racing is The Shit.
-
As much as i hate the monster energy/ ken block nut riders, thats pretty cool. Takes some balls and skill to go that fast on gravel.
-
Rally racing is for people with balls that are not small.... HAve always thought its one of the truest tests of skill.
Cool ass vid

You just insulted a Canadian member in good standing. Expect his declaration of surrender forthwith!

I'm not French, there will be no surrender.

it is a great video, and ken block has done very well for himself, but in europe he isn't very competetive.

I was insinuating Lowerit with his Monster/DC themed GRM car, but fuck it you'll do in a pinch.

I don't care who you are, and how good the driver is- if you're in the passenger seat, you definitely shit yourself.

2.0L turbo 4 cylinder.
Limited to 330bhp :noel:
fixed...i think. lol
-
Well it's probably 330whp with a mountain of torque, for that engine size.

553ft/lbs according to the same site.

what do they rev to?
rough calcs say that 330hp comes on at 3000rpm @553ft lbs
so anything after 3000 revs the torque must be dropping off as fast as the revs are going up. defeats the purpose of a turbo.

2.0L turbo 4 cylinder.

Nope, the WRC cars switched to 1.6L turbo's for the 2011 season. They used to be 2.0L turbos.

Whats up with all the car eating rocks on the side of the road?

Monster Fiesta Rally America Car
Technical Data:
2.0-liter I-4 engine, mounted longitudinally, with Garrett turbocharger
Horsepower: Capable of 493 hp @ 8,000 rpm but Rally America required turbo-inlet restrictor will limit the engine to 330 hp @ 7,000 rpm
Torque: 553 lb.-ft. @ 6,000 rpm
Maktrak/Olsbergs MSE 6-speed sequential transmission
Driveline: 4wd with front, center and rear mechanical differentials
15-inch Speedline magnesium wheels with Pirelli gravel-spec tires

533*6000/5252=608 hp, thats probably the torque on an unrestricted version of the car

The rally america car is different from the WRC car.

Moving away from the Focus nameplate used in the past, M-Sport (who has built Ford’s WRC cars for years now) has developed a completely new car that’s designed to work within a brand new FIA rulebook. The new 2011 car is about more than just working with a smaller chassis; it also has to comply with new engine and chassis rules. The biggest change is the new 1.6-liter turbo engine, which produces 300hp and 332 lb/ft of torque. Since the engine is forced to breathe through a tiny 33mm air restrictor, limiting the power output, M-Sport raises the boost level and plays with the torque output of the engine.
