I just ordered the harbor freight one for around the same price.  I think that one looks a little nicer though, don't remember all the details of the one I got, kind of an impulse buy.

My in-law is a cop in the O0 side of Milwaukee. He says the #1 theft deturant is man's best friend. Preferably not a "fighting" breed, the nogs just steal them.

240 fps? I think you can disregard the spec sheet.

Goofballs.

It's for the DVR.  240fps / 8 ch = 30fps per channel.  Notice how on this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16881523003) it says 480fps and is 16 ch.

Not a bad deal.  Here's a similar one on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16881523014 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16881523014)

I have been looking at these myself, so may have to check on ebay.  You may want to pick up some IR torches/spotlights if you plan to use any outside.  The cameras just have little LEDs so the range is limited, although it doesn't matter if you have good lighting outdoors.

http://www.x10.com/promotions/airsight_wireless_ip_camera.html?HP2 (http://www.x10.com/promotions/airsight_wireless_ip_camera.html?HP2)

Lots of neat features for the price and you can monitor on your phone make it send email, record to disk, txt... or all combined.    For 99 bux it pans and tilts, has 2 way audio and integrates with whatevers.

ADT as well... Popo station is 5 blocks from my house too.  That doesnt hurt either

If your dog can be stolen you havent trained them correctly. My female has turned into the best damn guard dog ever. Bitch is on it.

Most of the nigs steal the bulldog mixes they call pits aka american bully. They lack the game drive of a real bull terrier breed. Lean/mean best route. Havent been jacked since I got the pits.

When you are 200miles away from your house, how does your gun help prevent thieves to enter in your house?

me and my friends that lives with me both have a female boxer/pit from the same litter.. strangers dont want anything to do with my yard.. the one will run at you 30mph+ barking and mine just comes at you all muscle and jaws no barking kill now ask questions later.  they defiently dont lack any drive in the chase/attack/protect instinct area.  also, they really dont like black people for some reason

if i was gona get a dvr though id look for somthing with h.264 and network access and good resolution, that $300 one looks pretty decent

Bump

Need something for the shop, soon.

Any of you guys install any of these and have some feedback?

Willing to spend a little bit to get something that works, and has decent vids we can actually recognize people in.

My house was broken into twice a few years ago. I talked to a cop about sequrity systems and whatnot, he said if you get one, get one that has HD cameras. He said some people will get robbed, bring the video to the cops, but it's such low quality that you don't get a good face shot of the guy. So better resolution/focus/lighting, the better for having an actual chance of being able to identify the suspect.
