Title: Cell Phone
Post by: rsmith2786 on April 13, 2009, 09:40:16 PM
My parents are kicking my off of their cell phone plan.  I don't know what to get.  I was considering and iPhone plan through AT&T but don't really know.  I just started looking about an hour ago.  I want something "cool" and WIFI would be awesome.  I was also thinking about just getting a basic plan and an iPod touch.  What should i do?

You should sell your body to old men to pay your bill.  PM BoostedSchemes to get an idea of what you should charge, I understand it's quite lucrative.

No but for real, I have the samsung instinct and I hacked it so now I can use it as a modem. (sprint says that the phone will not support this but just youtube it and it will show you step by step how to do it)I have 2 phones with unlimited data, texts, and 1500 anytime min. and unlimited nights and weekends and I pay 129.99 a month. Overall the phone is ok, I wish it had a real keyboard and not just a touch screen keyboard. But overall it works pretty good.

How about one that makes calls

That's the one I have, and I still refuse to use it half the time.

I just kind of stare at mine when it rings.

I set mine to vibrate and leave it in another room.

Paid $180 for the G1
$50 for unlimited minutes, $35 for unlimited messaging/data

Can use it for tethering, always have signal unless I'm crossing mountains in the middle of nowhere.

Mine rarely gets answered so unlimited minutes is pretty much useless, but I was paying $40 for the lowest package, figure might as well pay the $10 extra (those clever bastards).

Yeah, some smaller companies have unlimited plans for $50

Unlimited minutes for 50 through tmobile? hook it up, I'm paying 99 +25 for unlimited data/msg.

It's their "loyalty" offer.  I'm not sure what the stipulations are as far as how long you have to have service with them, or if they still offer it, but I called one day and it greeted me with a message about the plan.

I did have unlimited messaging for $10 and $5.99 for T-Zones in which I used the proxy hack for full internet access.  I think the $35 plan is G1 specific, but is worth it considering how often browsing has come in handy.

i posted about this a lil while back. i have a touch and had an envy from verizon. because i had the touch i wanted to get an iphone. looked around and compared prices because our service agreement was up and we wernt in a contract so i thought we mite change companys. but where i live there are no small cell phone companys just verizon, att, and sprint, alltel also but fuck them.

anyhow i finnaly settled on a blackberry 8330. i love this thing. all i did was add 30 bux to my current plan and got the fone for free. i wish verizon had the blackberry bold cuz that biotch is pimp.

if u can get the blackberry 8900 i think is called or the blackberry bold.
