Title: Pretty sure I'm getting shafted on eBay
Post by: PhilStubbs on January 17, 2012, 05:51:27 PM
So, I find a nice 4" mandrel bent exhaust for an 07+ dodge truck. It is listed for $159 buy it now. Seemed too good to be true so I read the listing multiple times and even gave myself 3 days to think it over. I decided it was a hell of a deal and bought it on Sunday. I got good feedback for my purchase later that same day. I wake up this morning and decide to see if it shipped yet. To my surprise the listing has been completely changed and now it is just a cat delete pipe.

Does anyone know if eBay logs listing edits?

I contacted the seller giving him the chance to refund my money and get good feedback with no response.

Thoughts?

Yeah they log the edit, even if they say they do not, for legal reasons.  :noel:

Should have known right from the start. You can't buy a 4" for any application for even close to that price.

Did they actually have a picture of a cat back for the listing?

Last time I got "shafted" was for a 75mm Ford throttle body. $29.99 & free shipping. I was charged shipping (still paid, good deal), then eventually canceled by filing that I didn't pay for it. Thinking back, I should have "won" all their auctions that didn't require immediate payment with another account.

In my case, and maybe yours, it can be some moron listing it for a company w/o having the right info on it. They could give 2 shits if they're given a picture of an airplane but the auction is for a 16' bass boat. For $29.99 shipped. :P

It's best to send them a message and make sure it's true. Just play dumb and don't let them know what they have. I've won a lot of good stuff that way.

For my EG they are going for $119 shipped, thinking of buying this hacking the 2.25/2.5" header b-pipe flange off.

Weld a 3" flange and a small section of pipe and only have to make a down pipe from turbo to it.

Save time and money.  :noel:

Don't forget a flex section. They're all of $20 on ebay now. Just make sure it's near a flange so you can check it periodically.
