Do not know how much I'm getting but it is all going to the Family vaca in Virginia in mid June.  :noel:

I'm expecting $1k-ish. Tires for my truck and a tankless water heater for the house. 4 people in one house is rough on the old tank heater, plus I hate the idea of it running 24-7.

Dont they also use less power?

Russ im kick you in the balls if you dont go to NE dyno day 2012, a matter of fact im already passing through Virginia on my way down to NC so its no problem

I'm pretty sure the only real savings is due to it not running all day. The one I'm looking at uses 18kw per hour x 30 days= 540 I'm averaging 1800kw a month right now. 1/3rd of my power bill will be hot water. I don't expect much of a power bill change.

My wife will kick me in the balls, if I mess up the family vaca budget.  :noel:

If the Beast Coast meet is the week of my in Va. I can try to make it, but I will not have either of my rides out there.

Or better yet if the meet was in Aug. I can drive out there with my Civic or CRX.  :noel:

They should be around 725cc at 3bar, and math says ~935cc at 5bar base pressure. How much? Probably a bit more than a reman'd WRX set from rockauto. Except they'll be dynamically balanced. I got 88 of them machined today. Next week I start flow-matching.

I wasn't aware anyone made effective electric tankless heaters. The average tankless needs 4x the powa to keep up with a normal situation, IE someone taking a shower while another noglet washes the dishes by hand.
Title: Re: Income tax time
Post by: PhilStubbs on January 26, 2012, 12:08:01 AM
The key is temperature rise. I have a well in Florida. The water heater only has to bring the temp up 30° at pretty much any time of the year. I always though electric tankless water heaters were a waste compared to gas, but my research all says that electric is fine in a house, they just can't keep up in a commercial setting

Electric water heaters are garbage. I've installed a couple, they can't even keep up with showers. But i did a 210K BTU tankless last week, that thing is beast! 2 people showering no problem, and its yearly cost is "271" dollars as stated on the machine. 1300 installed is what I charged

No lower cover on yet in this pic

Post by: HiProfile on January 26, 2012, 12:49:00 AM
You mean "271" is on the yellow energy guide sticker? My 2011 50gal gas powervent is $272, but this was installed by my cousin who got it from his plumbing business. The funny part is the sticker's range is $285-$331, so it doesn't even show up.

I'll probably get a decent amount since my tax payment posted dec 31st (damn escrow), so I'll probably spend it all on more injector cores. Bigger cores.

Will be getting one whenever I get around to building a house, whenever I finish paying off the car...  Between the car/rent should free up around $1000/mo, and should have better credit score by then for lower payment, and should be making more moneys...

Sis has a propane tankless water heater in her house.  Works great and I'm sure is a lot cheaper than keeping water heated 24x7 even though it's only used an hour or two a day...  Only problem is the gas company that fills it sucks.

They are nice, but they are pricey. My cost on this unit from a friend that builds houses was 1150, just for the unit, then it takes special tankless valves with drains. plus plumbing and you HAVE to run 3/4" for the gas line and its gotta be within 50' of the meter, or you have to run 1' lines.

I believe retail on this unit is 1900. not positive tho.

I want to sell my Bradford White hot water heater I just installed, got it for free but its a 1400 dollar unit. and pick up a tankless.

Well Just ran our w2's and the 1098 through turbo tax free, and its looks like $4300. Paying of the credit card, and going on vacation!

We also refinanced our house and it closed last week so We dont have a morgage payment for the month of feb. So I payed off our car yesterday (14 months early) and a credit card that had a small balance. Feels good to be almost debt free! Besides the house.

I "should" get 6-7k this year because of school credit. I need to buy house things since my gf paid the 4000$ Bienvenu tax for the house...

I also need a new Integra and few parts for my motor! :P Probably suspension and tires for the Protegé. Don't really want to invest in that one tho...

And if I don't want to have fun and want to save interest I can pay a part of the 424,708.88$ debt I have LOL ...

Some on my car, some on some new eyewear, fake tooth because it's been maybe 2 years since knocking it out failing to use a drinking glass correctly.  Fresh threads, stuff for my woman, paint for my house, koi pond, rock garden, back deck.   Any of that sounds nice.   I'm not paying shit out this year until the end of the year.  Because like someone else said, interest free loan.  fuck them niggas.  That nice chunk of change they take out every 2 weeks is going in my pocket from now on.  Tired of doing the scrape and save game.

I did as much as I could to lower it, as I think originally it was $1100 I owed, but I'm not going to outright lie...  Everything I claimed can be backed up with some effort.

re: water heaters.....if you go tankless-go gas, electric tankless sucks shit, I don't have a gas option at my house so I'm getting a marathon water heater..

as far as spending my money that the government has been spending over the last year: new tv (thinking 70", the old 60" rear projection is getting blurry), marathon water heater, and new carpet for the 2nd floor of my house, the rest goes into savings

with the 2 incomes, the twins, the daycare, my mortage interest this year, and the out of pocket medical bills getting written, expecting to get back 5-6K
