So I'm looking into putting together a COP setup for my bike for the up and coming turbo conversion. Problem is, I can't find coils with a matching primary resistance, which is supposed to be 3.2ohms, most bikes I would consider for donor parts have coils setup at 1.6ohms. With VFRs already being known for having a less than adequate wiring for the application, I'm somewhat apprehensive to double the current drawn by the coils
Pretty sure most CDI ignition systems use low resistance coils, and its more common for an induction ignition to use a higher resistance coil, damn near positive my application is CDI, and that doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense, but thats what Honda decided was best.
Question is, does anyone know of an application which uses coils with such a high resistance, or even in the ballpark? Or, is there a way I can implement the lower resistance coils in place of the higher ones?
