Post by: 1991civicsi on February 05, 2012, 10:53:20 AM
Any suggestions which to buy, or not to buy? Is Actron crap, or do they all do pretty much the same thing? HF sells some as well.

obd-com

shit works off the laptop and was only like $80. It tells you the code# when it was triggered and what exactly it is so you dont have to look that shit up.

Got mine for $100 off flea bay.

Great for clearing EGR code daily.

You can also monitor each sensor while driving, updates all sensors about once a second.

To the best of my knowledge Autozone doesn't sell a scanner that clears codes. They only sell code readers.

Why do you need anything other than a paperclip for OBD 1?

Retrieves Generic & Manufacturer Specific Codes

That ONLY works if you can retrive tranny codes via the OBD-2 port.

96-2000 Honda you can't, have to break out the paper clip and count flashes on the dash.
