ok have a 90-91 s1 tranny. now on all trannies I have done 94+ have a syncro on top of the main shaft for reveres. I pulled this one apart ans there is nothing there? I looked in the honda manual and it doesn't show this year tranny in it. I'll try to get pics.

Look it up in the parts catalog using one of the online dealers.
www.acuraautomotiveparts.org (http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org) is one.

92-01 have the 6th synchro, 90-91 USDM and JDM B16 do not.
Even more confusing is there are two different sizes for 3-4 synchros. Some are D sized, other are B sized.

The LS gear sets use the smaller sized synchros as the gears on the mainshaft as smaller diameter because of the lower numberical ratio.
1 and 2 are the same in the vast majority of B series transmissions. Only 3 first gears options, and two second gear options that I am aware of. At least for large spline transmissions this is the case.
Not really confusing unless you are privy to some other info that I am not aware of.

Thanks thats what I needed to know cause all I could find was info on the 92+ mainshaft but no 90-91. So does the bearing just ride on the hub?

Just like a D Series IIRC.

Only what I've been learning from HondaTech with Synchrotech and Gearspeed posting info. I only hit up the tranny forum EXCEPT for the Junk2 bullshit that went down last week.
