bevelled washers?

Faggot probably never changed them, so the outer gears were flopping around when they broke causing the center "capsule" that loads the outer gears (that interface with the axles) to flop around and break.

20 dollar fix  (A WELL known NEEDED one) owns you .  Queerbait.

The MK5 is a O2m (which is the trans I should put in it anyways). I guess I will go with the peloquin or a quaife.

The Quaife is not the best LSD out there (proven FACT), and country of manufacture does not dictate the quality; Quality Control and who is responsible for it is. Besides, the only popular Helical LSD on the market that is made in China is OBX, so if you are talking about OBX, then you are correct, it is cheap China made.

If price is your main indication for "quality", please keep in mind that the $1200+ Quaife that was sold 10 years ago is now only a $700 piece. Why did it it almost halve in price? Simple, another company out there has taken away their market share by offering a better machined product (proven FACT) and, unlike the Quaife, is actually going up in price.

I realise (and understand) that the Quaife is your choice of LSD sold on Club RSX, but should it not be within your Club Members (and NOT Club Customers) best interests to offer unbiased advice/information? Your statement is far from being unbiased and is completely incorrect and misleading. Just a quick google search on the subject can prove this.

I can't seem to find where it is made, this is what I did find.

Tossing names around is nice & all, but when it's impossible to find WHERE or HOW to buy - the name means nothing.

You don't just buy it.

You send you OEM diff minus bearings and speedo/FD ring gear to Steve Eckerich with money, you get back this

Steve's blocks don't have places to hold the blocks together for install.

PG when copying Steve's design couldn't get it apart therefore didn't see the clutches.

http://www.opmautosports.com/products.html (http://www.opmautosports.com/products.html)

Quote
OPM Limited-Slip

The OPM limited-slip is a patented clutch-type custom made limited-slip differential. We start with a stock diff and remove all the gears and shafts to inspect and clean them. Then machining of the case is performed and the clutch packs are fit. The diff is then re-assembled and a spring block is pressed between the spider gears to put pressure on the side gears.

It works extremely well and has a long operation life. We have units in use in Solo, Improved Touring, Rallye, Ice Racing and high-performance street applications.

In comparison, the Quaiffe LSD is a gear-type unit. It is heavier than the OPM unit (like a heavier flywheel) and also has to re-engage if one of the wheels loses contact with the street or racing surface.

The Phantom Grip LSD is an incomplete copy of an OPM unit. It has the spring block, but no clutches so it wears out the diff housing. Dollar for dollar, the OPM unit is your best bet.

Not suggested for drag racing.
