Just now posting up on here been lurking the site for at least the last 7 years, used it for an information base and never joined. I ended up with a 90 integra sedan that i figured would be pretty fun with a holset on it. If anyone is down to lend a hand in the next couple weeks with the head removal or fab im pretty new to hondas but im pretty well read in them, Im located in oak harbor. So here is what ive assembled so far.
parts:
chipped and socketed the stock pr4
hulog and moates burn2 (thanks craig for the fast shipping and service)
lc-1 wideband and db1 guage
evo 560cc injectors (free)
turboedit with extratables and ecucontrol running ng63
revhard manifold
turbonetics evolution wastegate
holset hy35 (thanks 88dx)
greddy type rs bov (free)
evo 9 fmic (free)
stealthmode performance oil line kit (with adapter to holset)
civic half rad
a set of je 10:1 81.5mm pistons that i stole from a guy in cali for 75 bucks, used but had a machine shop look at them said they were good to go, saving them for when this pile of garbage explodes.
im sure there is more ill update after ive made the chargepipes and downpipe, i have a lincoln wirefeed full of fluxcore... I would like to backdoor one endtank of the intercooler if anyone has the ability to weld aluminum i would be willing to provide beer/coke/strippers. I still need a few things, mainly an oil drain flange for a holset if anyone has one.

Yes more to come i just pulled the bumper/ac/and hood off of it yesterday so this is just the beginning.
Im kinda debating not doing the arp's until winter, i have a 9 psi spring in the gate right now and thats all i intend to run until i build a block for it.

I saw something about pulling the head, if you are then I would go ahead and do the arp's. If you aren't, then I would just wait for the build.

On my last holset I bastardized a t3 drain and welded it to some flat stock and drilled it to fit. O0

How did that work for you?? I have a tdo4 suby drain but the id measures like 5/8, and the holset is right at 3/4. From what i read they like their drains to be large.. maybe ill give it a try

Every turbo wants a huge free flowing drain.

I just used a standard drain flange fits fine. drain hole is close to same size.

tacking the downpipe, 2.5 tubing due to the fact columbia manderal bending doesnt sell a 3" holset flange.

here is where i stuck a fork in it for the night. retapped the oil inlet of the holset to accept 12x1.0 so my oil feed is dealth with leaving return to be done another day.

update again, did some good old sunday afternoon fabricating. made an oil drain flange and dude it intake the intercooler pipe today, didnt have anything to cut a hole for the bov so i used my wirefeed as a plasma cutter :?:. Everything seems to come out good with no holes to be seen. Parts are on order and next weekend it should start. so when i pulled my oil pan to weld in a drain line, i found a bolt on the #1 main bearing cap backed all the way out. So i took it out and found the head of the bolt was broken causing it to back out obviously. pulled the cap and looked at the bearing, it looked fine and there was no abnormal wear patterns or anything. Then i pulled the next main bearing cap (next down the row). and found this. Pretty much am wondering whether i should just replace main bolts and slap it back together, or is this bearing even worth fucking with? did some more today, chargepipes are all done. Oil feed and injectors are taken care of, even made a basemap to start it up on. this week i should get the drain together and dp finished and hooked up to the rest of the exhaust. Still have to get the radiator back in, there a bunch of abs shit under the battery trey that needs to go so i can get the gangster lean goin on. anyone know how to get rid or that shit?

i cant really tell from the pic but bearings are cheap. i would stick some new ones in it.

Meh i ordered new bolts yesterday just gonna slap it back together, rev limiter is gonna be set at 7500 so hopefully itll last. If not i have an excuse to build a 10:1 ls block :noel:

I've tuned several large turbO stock ls cars...
Most have taken 15psi easy; and one took 21 on pump with a h1c....
Rippin like mad; only one blown headgasket between all owners, and he let his car overheat so there u go :)

Why i like it.

2. 4 door 2g!!!!!!!!! Clean for the age of the car.
3. 10:1. got popcorn for that. Sounds like you know your way around tuning enough to make that happen i hope. High compression turbo builds are always interesting to see. As far as i'm concerned that's the only way to do it. minimal lag and good off boost throttle response is where it's at!
4. Pie cut downpipe!
ARP bolts are like flack jacket in cod black ops. That's pretty crazy to see them snap like that and not have catastrophic failure go down.

woop finished up, one 10psi pull and the clutch said fuck you :noel:, ordering one from lsd motorsports soon.. thing rips and i get full spool before 4 grand. I ran two resonators on the exhaust and it is quiet as shit, almost too quiet. power delivery is like 300000 times smoother then my subaru was, all around really fun car to drive in traffic and has the ass up top to be fun on the back roads too. Anyone in the nw who wants to experience an hy35 on a b series i would be more then glad to take ya out.

this fucking pos, i absolutely hate turboedit right now. tried to get some tuning done now its all fucked up, has massive swings from lean to stoich and it datalogs too fucking slow to show whats actually happening. Time to start all over i cant for the life of me fix this fucking thing.

did some tuning, 9-10 lbs with a .75 timing retard per psi. Registers 12:1 through boost, cruise has been kinda lean, been attempting to lean it out. Im still getting a little bit of speckling on the strap but it doesnt seem terribly lean, whats everyones thoughts?

what plugs are you running? Throw a fresh set in, do a pull in 3rd gear and at the top of 3rd right b4 you hit the limiter, key the car off. Pull over and pull the #3 plug and check it out.

yeah, those plugs are a little warm for a boosted app. I would go with some 7s or 8s. ngk 4644 or 4554 I wasn't blowing out spark at 18psi with the 7s gaped at .035

ill post some pics later this week i guess, fourth gear pulls are out the questions right now due to the clutch, even third is pretty done. Next weekend new clutch rippers will happen.

I prefer those to pretty much any other sort of plugs for boost, nitrous or high compression. They are dirt cheap and easy to find in nearly any speed shop.

what the fuck is this bullshit. Does this garbage ass shit ever since i had the intake manifold off, skip to 2:10 and it goes back to a normal idle like a light switch. clutch is almost broke in and im ready for rippers, im thinking this is iacv?
