Title: Moved oil drain on pan, now leaks

The original drain made by the previous owner was on the lower part of the pan so I had to relocate it after I finally noticed it. Now that I moved it to the shallow side of the pan I'm getting a leak from the drain. I moved it as high as possible but it seems it might be backing up at that location. I plan on moving it closer to the middle of the pan but wanted to get some input before I waste more time. Just painted it too :(

I cut the line even shorter for more of a angle to the pan but it's still leaking. I'm thinking it's all about the placement of the drain which is on the shallow side of the pan and is stoping it up..

Any suggestions always appreciated

My $0.02 would be to move the drain over to the deeper side of the pan.The oil smear is all coming from near/around the turbo drain by the looks of the pics

Get another pan, the sump is damaged, bent in too much.  :noel:

Yeah that's exactly what I was going to do with moving the drain to the deeper side of the pan. The pan looks tapped pretty good so I don't know what's going on there. Will get another pan and pickup as thats dented too

And screw getting a new pan. Smack that shit out with a rubber malet, this is rhmt.
Shit use a 2x4.

Some pliers will straighten that sump out too, doesn't look bad on my phone.

Too close to the pan seam.  It always leaves a gap you can't quite weld or use sealants on.

Sucks, but is true.

I used a half a stick of waterweld on my leaking drain and now it's barely a small seep...  Just slowly moistens my pan over time.
