This is my friends car, just got tuned at Converse in San Antonio on Thursday to 723 WHP. Was shooting for 800+ but didn't bring a strong enough wastegate spring. Only got 29 pounds of boost out of the turbo. He will be going back to get more tuning done after the SR20-forums.com meet in Ohio next week.

And here is a vid of it going out on the highway. 4th and 5th gear burnouts from 70. Look how long his speedo stays pegged out lol. And his speedo goes to 150 mph. Sorry about the sound, i don't know why it didn't come out.

Oh, forgot to mention this is on drag radials as well. Tuned with AEM EMS and running C16 gas.
And here is his build thread on the SR20 forum.

So does your buddy blow you or do you blow him?
-
transmission specs? death count?
-
The tranny is a newer 6 speed S-ER with a JDK spec bell housing (it's thicker). He has killed a bunch of transmissions in the last couple set ups, but this one also lived through his last build which was 650 whp.
-
Cool setup.
Great power.
Mo traction
Useless car...
No wonder trannys dont break LOL

Ill post up my buddy sr, he going to the same meet. Sr20vet, 20v head, sleeved, 6567 bb turbo, getting tuned this week. The main difference is my buddy hooks all 4 ;)
-
Post it up man, I'll bet they end up racing at the meet. We will see who wins.

I haven't either, but it sounds badass.

It's a rare head, but it's not a 20valve head, the valve cover is stamp 20v. Ports are bigger, better shape, and seems to make more power.

U13 Bluebird SSS? Also AWD?
-
Yeah and goodbye awd gearbox. Most of the gtir's and bluebirds dont handle good at 700+hp even with a dogbox, then goes the rear case.

Yes on some volks and fatty MT.

Car has been to gather for some time, only thing he had issues with was the fd, but that is what the custom straight cut fd is for

So just testing it out tonight he bogged on the launch and ran 10.5 at 147. Hopefully breaking into the 9's tomorrow at the meet.
-
I wanna see the "altima" and the sentra run. That'd be a cool race to watch.
-
I haven't talked to him, but he posted on Facebook that he fucked a bunch of stuff up in the bottom end. Spun a bearing, shattered oil pump, and something else.... So 10.5 was the best he got out of it.

He didn't end up going, ran into issues tuning a lifted the head. 25psi 630 hp and that was only on the low cam, wasn't crossing over.

Damn, that sucks. He just got it going too.

Yeah, had a 10.5@149.2 mph with a bogged 1.777 60 ft and horrible 330, babied the gears. Next pass I had a 1.64 60 still bogging a bit but hit 2nd quick and my 330 was .4 faster than the 10.5 run but missed 3rd and just cruised it to a 10.6@132. Saturday my first run against the Mazworx GTIR I pulled another 1.64 60 ft bogging a bit and let off at about 900 ft right after I got into 4th. I lost oil pressure probably somewhere in 2nd or 3rd gear as I was pounding off the 10k limiter. Felt it bog and let off. Started it back up and heard some nasty knocking from the crank more than likely and motor was turning over slow like it was binding.
Hopefully It didnt damage the main journals. Crank is probably toast and bent by the looks of things. I have all the parts except bearings to fix it but its going to have to wait till I come back from Afghanistan before I can fix it. It will get that 9 second pass at 150+. Ill bring it back out with even more power and less revs to hopefully keep this problem from happening again and some other small changes. All in all it doesnt look like anything too major to fix but wont know for sure until i rip into it.

Thats all part of the sport, just dont give up and keep it moving.

What kinda tard would run 700+ in a fwd car? lol
Any updates on this car?
-
Yeah, got some changes in the works. When its back out it will be making upwards of 850-900whp, less revs to keep oil pump issues from happening, some serious head work, and a bit more displacement.
As for having 700+whp in a fwd car. Its a drag car and with boost by gear you can have full traction all the way down the track. At least I did on my first and 2nd pass. Putting about 500whp down in 1st and 2nd and full 700+ down in 3rd and 4th. 3rd and 4th could easily see another 100-150whp more without having traction issues with the way I have the cars alignment, tire pressure, and suspension set up.
It will be back out when I get back from another year in Afghanistan.

I think the "What kind of tard would run 700+ whp in a FWD car" was ripping on spiker's comment, since he too has a 700+whp FWD car.
-
You better hit me up when you come back, since you left before we had a chane to BBQ this time.
