Hot. Its nice to back up my past runs. 4 10 second passes so far this year. Im ALMOST satisfied.
The bad news....
Coming out of the burnout box @ 8900 in 2nd gear the differential exploded.
So I only got one run in today, but at least it was decent.
Went soft on the car 1st run, lift throttle shifting @ roughly 83-8400 rpm every gear. (8900 normally)
I regret that now, should have went balls out and possibly brought home a 10.4x
BTW im glad that the car didnt lose any mph after adding the cage (75% done, 2 front posts and floor plates left to weld in).
Hot.

Going welded diff? Sent that spacer out this weekend. Im impressed as always.
-
Might go obx. I feel welded diff is too dangerous with stock axles. The wall hurts.
-
Any problems towing the car back with the damaged trans?
-
Nope.

Got one local to me. He was a member on OHMT
-
How was the boost today? Solid now, or still dropping off?
-
excellent, I admire you
but still
no vids = fail
-
noone cares.

An OBX LSD may destabilize you, if you aren't careful. Closely inspect the washers (where the diff pin used to be) and make sure they are arraigned so that they are a little tight when you close the diff up. If you leave them out, or jingling, you may get that sweet unstable side-to-side under power phenomenon. Makes it really hard to hold the car between the lanes.
-
Awsome time dude O0
I'd be fucking stoked to run those times on that build.
-
Joe nice times as always! I have that obx for you, not 100% you will be able to use it but its yours.
-
noone cares.
you managed 0-911 in 12.1 seconds of fire
u cant even afford to do that
-
Nice times on the setup.

Nobody has to be able to afford to do it. All anyone has to do is drive to your house and let you work on something.
-
But on topic good job with the setup man and I can only dream of having as good of a time as you with like 10x the money in mine. Good luck and after I blow my motor to hell and back I'll be looking at you and your progress.
-
check your pm
and good work on the diff. i blew one last year with a stock z6. they're not the most robust part in the case
any videos?
-
Good shit!! :noel:
-
i bet you could get rhmt to sponsor you, in some way/form
I just sent him free parts so its already begun

JD, no complaints here on all my installs, the washers are to control noise, not preload.

Anyone know which cable trans have small and large bearings ?
Obx only makes the lsd for 40mm bearings correct ?
BTW thanks guys.
-
What is your 60 foot?
-
It went 1.69
Not my best but not bad.
-
Chuck, have two at the shop that fight you under power, where before they were stable peg leggers.
-
i thought it was pretty well known that civic's torque steer, mainly d series.
-
They don't when there's an intermediate shaft and an alignment involved. Neither of these cars are D-series.
-
What gear do you preload in? Atleast 2nd or 3rd correct.

yep, but if you got the dough, quaffie makes the 35mm ones. you should be able to find five 40mm trannys for the price of one quaffie 35mm diff

might have to cross refrence the engine code to the tranny code but hope it helps

5mm
-
5mm
lol, beat me to it
-
nice ninja edit
for P20 5th gen civic trannies, 40mm units = B000, 4th gen I have no clue
-
A000 or A100 = 35mm
B000/3000/6000/9000 = 40mm
works for 88-2000
-
I need 1-2 and 3-4 shift forks.
If you have them, cough them up. 50 bucks.
I found a spare diff, im gonna go with that for now. Just need the forks.
-
my 'si trans picture looks to have a 3 on the sticker, i'll know for sure later tonight
it says somethin like l375###### i can't read the rest
check the stamp, not the sticker
A000 or A100 = 35mm
B000/3000/6000/9000 = 40mm

Bone do hydro shift forks fit in cable trans ?
-
Bone do hydro shift forks fit in cable trans ?
1-2 maybe, 3-4 no.
-
I didnt get a chance to look at the boost gauge, and we didnt log my run this time. So i cant say for sure.
Complex, if you want to sell just the forks let me know. But that will probably suck for you.
-
The graveyard of old cable si transmissions was sold for scrap last summer should of broken them down and sold for parts
