Title: I got a new camera (56K will die)
Post by: patsmx5 on April 20, 2009, 04:28:59 PM
My kind neighbor's young son that broke in my house, once successfully, second time not so successfully, stole my old Kodak 3.8MP digital camera. So I upgraded.  8)

I was gonna do the IMG tags but then the pics are huge. How do I resize them so they are hosted on my site, but not so damn big?

Upgraded to what... a 2mp camera?  Something isn't right, the pics are foggy and shit.  Digital zoom perhaps?  Low ISO?
It's a 10 actually... Wasn't zoomed in any. What's ISO? I'm not a photographer by any means. I just pushed the button to take pics.

If anything ISO is too high.  I keep set at 200 if I have anything that resembles light, and only really start messing with ISO settings outdoors or with multiple low light sources.

What camera (brand/model) is that?

Also, your headlamps are starting to yellow.  That annoys me to no end.

It's a Kodak MD1063 10.3 MP. This was done outdoors in the shade, but it was sunny outside of the carport.

And yeah, faded headlights and a dirty car add to the sleeper look.  :noel:  (owned a G35 today from a roll)

Begin by cleaning your lens

Just hit them with a light cut rubbing compound, it takes about 30 seconds if you have a DA.

Yeah I heard that too, so I thought I'd be smart and do that one day. Spent like 2 fucking hours sanding on them bitches, then put the polish shit on and yeah they were better, but it lasted like 2 months and they looked worse than before. I said fuck it after that. I scrubbed them with a wash rag last time I washed my car (early august) and they cleaned up considerably, as pictured.

NC can actually fail your safety inspection for having yellowed lenses as it "obstructs headlamp projection"  ::)

Im not a big fan of kodak, their film cameras are worthless.  I know nothing of their new point-and-shoot units, hopefully they latched onto another company to get a decent design.

Cameras you wont go wrong with (digital...)

Nikon
Canon
Olympus

Avoid all sonys but the older cybershots like the plague.  They dont know how to make a proper unit.

What's a safety inspection?  :P

I liked my old Kodak digital camera. It took ok pictures, and that's all I want. Only reason I bought another Kodak is because my old Kodak I took like 6K pictures with it over the course of ~2.5 yrs, dropped it 100 times, left it out in the rain twice, and it always worked and was showing no signs of failing. Probably still working well for whoever it traded hands to after the guy stole it.

Was Teg2boo saying clean the headlight lenses or the camera's lens? Or both?  :somb:

I hit my headlights with 2000 grit wet and then just cleared the headlights.  I dont care if it peels off in a year, it took 5 minutes.  looks brand fucking new.
