Post by: lilpooh21186 on April 22, 2009, 01:26:13 AM

Get good hose for that shit, those are for refreshing cool water and shit, it gets REALLY soft under all that heat so watch it real close if you are gonna try it... I wouldn't even idle with that bitch on considering you got such a nice build around it. Goodyear red hose from vatozone is like 3$ man.

Title: Re: end of game thanks to all who helped *carnage inside*
Post by: lilpooh21186 on July 23, 2009, 09:27:29 AM
not exactly sure yet cylender 3 plug was flattend with a gash taken out of it an 1 of my intake valve retainers is split in half so im thinking a valve dropped and the piston smacked the valve. the car drove for about 3 mi fucked up but it wouldnt idle then i just shut off and wouldnt start back up.

stock valves i revved 9k last year everyday but they only took 8700 this year mabey it was the gsr cam's or ignition cut rather than fuel cut it did get violent at the limit.

There is no pitting, n00b.  The carbon coat on the pistons is intact except for where aluminum shrapnel produced by the valve dropping has dug into the combustion chamber, which results in sharp cuts to the piston and head.

You've never seen a valve drop before, huh?

I think you are confusing shiny water droplets for pitting. Those pics are so far away and out of focus, that imho one could not really make much of a call on detonation from them.

Still no n00b post.

Yes, aluminum chunks spray out of 3 into the IM, and then reenter the other three cylinders and cause scarring.   The carbon trackis still unmolested except for sharp CUTS in the chambers, there has been no pitting.

And, fuck your piddly ass 9 years, I'm old.

Maybe it's the fact Honda has issued many bulletins regarding long-term effects of slightly bent valves (weakinging then snapping). Even a slight, nearly-unmeasurable bend will weaken a good ductile metal when it flexes a hundred thousand times.

I'd say go with a cheap D16 for the time being, HF manifold & vitaras. Better than a stock B16
