Title: E85
Post by: crxvtec91 on August 27, 2012, 11:51:31 AM
Anyone running E85 worried about next year? I have heard 70% of the corn yeild for the year died due to the drought. I am not sure if I should buy 20gal for next year just in case prices JUMP a lot or I cant find it at all.

Yes but how long can a surplus last, also how long will the price of e85 be cheap is what I'm getting at.

I live in a state that mandates E85, and is heavily subsidized. I'm not worried about it going anywhere, and if it did, I'd run something else for the car I drive from time to time on the streets, and at the track. You running a fleet of shit around?

Foodstuffs aren't as easy to transport as liquids. Refineries can be put almost anywhere (near the corn), supermarkets not so much. Even during a national drought, a local surplus near an E85 refinery will feed our tanks before bellies. This is why there is a surplus of Rice while nogs go hungry in Africa.

only like 10% of US corn is actually used for human food, we dont eat that GMO shit. most of the world will not even allow it to be sold, corn is really only used for animal feed and fuel.
