Title: Anybody good at Philosophy and want to make some money?
Post by: rsmith2786 on April 27, 2009, 03:08:02 PM
Any one of the three essays below.  How much?

Write a 3 to 5 pp. essay in which you articulate and defend, on the basis of quoted text, a Romantic, Marxist, or Feminist interpretation of FRANKENSTEIN's implied critique of applied science.

Write a 3 to 5 pp. essay in which you articulate and defend, on the basis of quoted text, a Marxist interpretation of GALILEO’s implied critique of applied science.

Write a 3 to 5 pp. essay in which you defend Victor or Galileo--and by implication the Enlightenment project of applying modern science to 'relieve man's estate'.

NB:  In either of the first two of these essays, begin with an account of Victor's or Galileo's stated project of applying the new science to benefit humankind; proceed to show what in his life or story thwarts that project; and draw ethical conclusions.

In the third essay, begin with an account of the hero’s stated aim; show what in his life might seem (from a Romantic, Marxist, or Feminist standpoint) to belie it; and yet defend it as ultimately right-headed (and hearted).

I took one philosophy class, biggest waste of time ever, The kids i sat with in the class thought i dropped it as I didn't show up for the last 4 weeks of our 10 week quarter, they were all surprised to see me at the final.

I took my D and moved on with life and to other shitty classes.

Unfortunately this is actually a 3800 level class.  The last paper I wrote was about applying the ethical ideals of Kant, Mill, and Aristotle to case studies.

Yep.  I wouldn't say that paper was entirely original.

My sister in law did a paper like that. Something about Frankenstein wanted to make something living because men can't have baby's. It read like an arguement I would have while shit faced drunk. Hell, give that a shot, take the idea, get bombed and see what happens.
