Just a heads up, i was going through my bill and noticed a $9.99 charge:
PredictoMobile: Vote - PredictoMobile -03/29 $9.99
I called sprint and they told me it was an automatic 3rd party charge that was added to my bill by me texting something to someone. -and by texting those people, you are wanting there service, not just the one time thing. I think this was when my wife voted on American idol.
The lady was nice and removed it for me.
make sure your going through your sprint bills. $10 is like a half a tank of gas. :?:

Has abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do with Sprint.
When I worked at Cingular/AT&T...a good percentage of calls were about these type of charges. Either the person did one of the "text xxxxx to xxxxx for xxxxx" things, or they happened to get a phone number that someone else had before with those "services."
If you've had the number for a while, then you or someone using your phone sent a message to one of those companies... I'd never own Sprint but they had nothing to do with it.

Technically its within their right to charge you, as whom ever you texted charged them for the usage. Same as a Toll call, 1-900 # etc.
Any cell phone co. will do that shit to you. It aint just sprint. Most of them will be cool and drop the charge for you. If they dont, then yes they do suck ass.
Really what it boils down to is that they hope people dont go thru their bills and see it. They are hoping that Frank will just miss it, or say "oh well its only $10" and just pay it anyway. Its a low down shady US goverment move, but they do it anyway.

because they allow that kind of shit. yes, i agree with a 1 time charge, but to continue it until I cancel it...when I never signed up for a $10/mo charge on my billl....

3rd party charges Sprint > Sprint charges you
3rd party is legally charging Sprint monthly, so Sprint will legally charge you monthly. Although most people probably don't want those shit subscriptions, some people do...Sprint can't legally stop the subscription because "they want to do you a favor."
The subscription was initiated by you or someone with your phone, so unless you cancel it you will keep getting charged.

I think some of the charges sprint tosses on there just to see if you notice. I check my bill/usage every few weeks and constantly am calling them to remove shit. Some of the charges have been similar to franks situation where we (fiance and I) have gotten spam texts over and over again and all it took to stop it was to call Sprint, who somehow ha the power to tell which messages were spam and what numbers were sending them without me telling them. To me, that means they are in on it.
What really got me steamed recently was that they offered me free upgrades (more text messages on my plan) after I had a ton of issues with them. Sure enough, next month i got charged for the "free" upgrade. I called, they said they would fix it. Bill comes in, and the charges are back. I call again, and they said they had no record of my previous calls/free upgrade (which makes no sense, who added the shit to my plan then). blah

Yeah fuck sprint. My Treo fried from "overcharging according to sprint". Luckily it still was under factory warranty.
Turns out it was a software issue where it wouldn't stop charging...

Ive been with em for 8 years I rock my 12th HTC titan and Ive paid for only 2 in the last almost 3 years. I just take it back after ive kicked its ass and sprints like ok cool here your new shit, and i don't even have Insurance. I pay like 130 for 2 HTC titans on an 2900 anytime nights weekends at 7, unlimited texts, unlimited data. Its really like 150 but they give me like 15% off or something each bill.
In Hampton Roads VA you've got Sprint, Verizon or No service. Dont have anything against Verizon in fact they work better in rual ares of VA but they cant touch my bill right now. they want like 20+ more for same setup.
I love Sprint.

Here, if you dont have Verizon or US cellular, you dont talk on a phone. Everything else sucks here in the mountains.
