So someone here has to be reloading? I shoot enough so that I should be doing it just never got into it.
-
I used to, but sold everything in late 2005 so I could eat.
6 rounds of factory loads vs, my 6 of my handloads, Marlin 336 30/30 lever action.
125 gr. JHP with 32.5 grs of R12 powder.

You almost have to reload these days. Ammo prices are shit, factory loads have always blown, etc.
-
oooooo rolling his own 30-30, would you be my neighboor? lmao those marlin's shoot nice dude have you shot any of the new leveraction ammo? god damn that shit is expencive.
idk depends on the factory load. my problem is that you wind up needing or WANTING to shoot twenty different bricks to find what you gun likes. then 7-8 years down the line that ammo is gone & all the *new and improved* shit doesn't shoot as well! so its back to shooting ammo :\
i swear to god the best group i ever shot on my 24" 30-30 at 100yds was from some winchester ammo circa late 1960's. :( Got about 10-15 rounds left of it :'(

My Ruger 10/22 that I've tweaked loved Winchester Super X ammo, the cheap stuff.
I took the brick outer box back to the store I'd got it, they had two bricks left from same lot, I bought them both :)
My first ever handload was just as accurate as above. I reloaded 357 Mag using Lee Powder dippers, 9.8 grs. of OLD Blue Dot with a Win. 158 JHP on top. I was busting clays at 100 yards using a 4x pistol scope.
This was not a hot load, very mild. Velocity was 1030-1040 fps, just barely subsonic so the bullet wasn't upset by the sound barrier.

I need to start reloading my shit

Im kinda into it, when I get the chance to shoot.
My dad found the "perfect formula" years ago for his model 700 varmit 22-250
He could shoot a group tighter than a dime at 100 yards. That gun is damn precise.

Reloading prices are crazy too, don't save much these days. Wish I got into it a year ago
