Adrian is good people I have known him since he was a kid, and his brother wears jump suits to rhmt dyno events.

I will probably throw some money at this, just because it's aid, and will probably work as he is already a small business owner not because I care about bicycles.

Negative, I was going to help him design it and manufacture it but our relationship ended before that. He has a "marketing" company, I contracted them to build me a website, he wrote up a contract, 11k for the website, %50 up front the rest on completion, with the completion date of mid April 2012. By the end of October/early November I had enough, the page was still not done and he actually had the nerve to ask me to pay him the rest of the money even though the page wasn't done, and was over 6 months late. Needless to say I said Fuck no, and ended the relationship, both business and friends (been friends with him for 8 or 9 years now). When he says he had been ignoring a lot of things to work on the project he is right, he has lost all his friends, wife, and most of his business.

On a completely different note, I have very mixed (leaning towards negative) feelings about kickstarter. While I think its important to invest in new ideas, technology and science, is getting a no interest, no strings attached gift of money to pursue a project a good thing?

I think it just further breeds the non commital, instant gratification and no sacrifice lifestyle that too many 1st world countries are growing used to.

Yeah I'm still out the cash for the deposit. I'm mostly pissed of that my friend did that to me, I can get over the money, but the disrespect hits hard.

Actually there's a few more websites similar to kickstarter. I am going to try making full use of the no interest, no strings attached instant gratification of money tossed into my pocket to buy a lathe for 2013.

How is that possible? If he didn't have it up by the date given, that would mean he broke the contract. I'm sure almost any ambulance chaser would take the case for nothing up front and get you a decent chunk back in a year or two. I know from now on I will *only* use my CC's to issue large payments after dealing with Sewell. That's about the only reason I got my money back, consumer protection laws.

As far as the website, I'm sure rawr would do some good shit. There's also a bunch of free hosts that offer "custom" websites, which are a much safer deal than a friend.

Give rawr eleven stacks.  He'd have the site done in a week, then fly out and give you a blowjob.

Costs more for the for the lost time involved then it does for the cash he is out.

dvst8r nailed it. Its not really worth my time. But more then anything I am super burned out, life and business have been ultra shitty for the last month and a half, worse then usual. I couldn't handle taking a friend to court on top of it. Its better for my business and health to just move on.

CC would have been a good idea, and I probably should have done that. But I also should not have let it slip to 6 months late.

I already have another company building a new page for me, I am a lot more confident they will do a good job, they are a bit cheaper, I think the page is maybe 8-10k. And they are taking care of all the photos and everything. I seriously have no time to put into it at all so I need to have a company that can just show up, take what they need, get whatever info they need from me in 20min or less and get back to work.

Where are the links to rawr's work?

No real need for iso9001 here, but it would be nice for my own records. I have a lot of bigger, more pressing issues to sort out first.

No real need until you start getting nuke contracts and you can retire in 3 years.

ISO9001 is just a stepping stone, wait until you TS9001, API version, or Aeronautics version.  :P
