I keep kicking around the idea of putting a small turbo on my truck since I can't afford the 6bt for a while. Anyone know of any cheap 4 barrel TB's out there? I guess I could use an elbow and one big TB. Trying to keep this simple and cheap. Truck is currently carb'd with an edelbrock 600cfm.
If it matters
90 silverado
270hp/350tq 4 bolt main crate motor
Figuring on megasquirt just cause I have always wanted to use one.
Probably some HiProfile injectors.

Gut a carb and mount a Tps to it somehow?
-
That's not a bad price on that bbk. Hmmm
I considered using a carb, I have 2 holly 750's. I just didn't want to cobble up a tps setup
-
So 5 dollars for a TPS and 30 mins of your time or 250 dollars for a complete setup.
-
Just seems like it would look like complete ass. Plus plugging all the fuel holes and everything? Meh. I like the idea of bolting on
-
I like the idea of just a single TB on a custom hat thing. stick 4 hi profile injectors in it. and one of those big ass ford style TB's. make it an easy aim at the intercooler and away from turbo.

kinda like that. but instead of nitrous nozzle you have hi profile injectors.... and a V8.

Yea, half way through typing I started thinking about making an elbow, put a 90mm mustang tb on it and mount the 4 injectors in the elbow. We will see. I have 2 things in the works to have money in my pocket again. As soon as that happens ill start collecting parts.

Fixed so I could see it.couldnt copy/paste on my phone for some reason.

sorry. did it from my phone and didn't check it cuz I'm at work lol.
I think it should be a solid setup.... for a pushrod SBC.
-
i use the truck for towing, so i wont be pushing a ton of boost. just want a little extra oomph without ruining the torque. i have a feeling anything else i could do to make power from here on, would just push the torque higher in the rpm range.

hey, you're the one who said simple and cheap. Not good looking.
-
And you already bitch about the coat of gas.
-
I'm sure fuel injection would up my mpg a decent amount
