anyone have some first hand experience with these? there are a hole bunch of H and I beam rods on eBay with bolts for as low as 240bucks.
just worried about the finish work and how well they are machined. don't want to bolt them down and they just clamp down on the crank and not spining a bearing at startup. or piston rattling around on the small end lol.
-
I've run em in 2 cars, no issues. I had my engine builder look em over, they were both in spec.
-
Usually the require some pin fitting. They seem to run on the small side most of the time.
-
more concerned about the fit of the big end. good to note the small end. i think i did that for my TunerToys rods also. i would really hate for the big end to be too tight and seize up/spin bearings.
i will probably end up jewing someone tough on some eagle/manleys. but if that fails might just throw these in.

Buddy used the SGI brand rods $225 with ARP 2000 bolts. Have now been in three engines still going strong. Remember the TT rods were china and they held still hold up for people
-
also, remember that your EAGLE rods are made in china... finish machined in US... :-*

I've used two sets, one of them were TunerToys and the other was some lowball eagles.
I'm using a set of cunninghams and they a little lighter and look like they are of better quality.
I also just bought a set crower d15 rods and they also look more trust worthy than the CDM rods.
CDM rods I would just have the big ends checked out to make sure concentric. :noel:
